Sarah Palin for US Senate ?
Whine and groan about another Sarah Palin thread all you need to - the fact remains that the birth-child of the religious right-wing has now been launched nationally.

McCain doesn't have to win in November for Sarah Palin to have staying power. And maybe that's a big part of the thinking behind her selection.

America can't afford 4 more years of Bush-Cheney... and that's all a McCain-Palin ticket is...more of the same.

Nor can America afford to have Sarah Palin in the U.S. Senate.

She only has 2 more years to go in her term as governor - she could easily run for the Senate after that.

The nation might not want Palin to be Vice-President but that doesn't mean Alaska won't send her to Washington as a Senator.

It seems the thought has already been planted in the minds of Alaskans.

1. I agree 100%
We won't be seeing the last of Sarah Palin, even though McCain is obviously going to lose this election.

2. I get the feeling this is McCain's last hurrah, so to speak
but Palin? Palin could very easily end up in Washington anyway.

10. The religious right has been around since forever
and rumors of their impending demise have been going around for about as long - oh, they wane...falling out of favor...but then they come back.....they old guard might be dying off but the next generation is just gearing up

Damn shame how they are using that child to pander

6. I don't think she's going to be *nearly* so popular in Alaska after all this.
I see her future as being very much in the hockey/pta field of influence. If that.

9. From the second the religious right wing came out supporting her
the day she was named...and come out they did...in force...all the well known names

I knew something was up

her selection doesn't make sense without considering a long term possibility...energizing just to elect McCain? They haven't forgiven McCain for what he said about them during 2000. And these people are petty and vindictive
