I think "Barracuda" is the PERFECT song for the Palin candidacy...
and Heart is very wrong to stop them from using it.

After all, it's not every day the Repukes choose a song for their candidate that has the line, "If the real thing don't do the trick, you better make up something quick."

And there's the HISTORY of the song! Ann Wilson wrote it in a hotel room after their former manager ran an ad in (IIRC, don't hold me to this) Billboard Magazine (okay, maybe not Billboard but it was a music trade publication) that suggested the Wilson sisters were in an incestuous lesbian relationship.

I really can't think of a better song for this campaign--well, except for the "Feel Like I'm Fixin To Die Rag" and they won't play that. Can you?

2. I respect the Wilson's desire to NOT let the REPUGs have it
but, rather to tell them to go F__k offand not get to promote their little moronic story line around Palin with their song. They wrote it, they recorded it, they own the rights. I hardly think we have the right to tell them they are wrong to feel that way.

5. The very best reason the Wilsons SHOULD let them use the song
The Repukes have this...well, history...of using popular songs they don't understand to try to promote themselves. Remember when Bankruptin' Ronnie decided "Born in the USA" was just the patriotic song he wanted to use to sell himself in 1984? And Springsteen had to fuck up and tell him what the song was really about--how Vietnam vets got fucked by their country.

Fast forward to the present day. The Republican candidate for vice-president carries a resume so thin she's got to use her high school achievements to get it to two pages long, so she's running using her high school nickname. I figure if the Wilsons were to stand back and just not say anything, just let them ride, eventually Sarah's going to be dumb enough to do Olbermann and the first thing he'll ask her is, "do you know what that song is actually about?"

7. they are too stupid to hear all of that , didn't Dole again try to use Born in the USA
when he ran for the same stupid reasons Ronnie did ?

if these people understood anything they would have known what the song was about already.

4. Pubbies never pay any attention to the words.
Look at Reagan trying to use "Born in the USA". And I have also heard it used at fireworks displays, the crowd cheering mindlessly everytime the chorus kicks in.

8. Once again. the Republicans inadvertently choose an inapproproate song.
One which they have no idea what it really means. Sort of like "Born in the USA". LOL. These people are so out of tune and out of touch.
