Palin will not talk to press.
Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 09:06 AM by Wilber_Stool
According to Nicole Wallace of the McCain campaign, the American people don't care whether Sarah Palin can answer specific questions about foreign and domestic policy. According to Wallace -- in an appearance I did with her this morning on Joe Scarborough's show -- the American people will learn all they need to know (and all they deserve to know) from Palin's scripted speeches and choreographed appearances on the campaign trail and in campaign ads. Here's the exchange.

3. McCain and the politics of mortality
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13096.html

a look at the actuarial tables insurance companies use to evaluate customers shows that it’s not an irrelevant one. According to these statistics, there is a roughly 1 in 3 chance that a 72-year-old man will not reach the age of 80, which is how old McCain would be at the end of a second presidential term. And that doesn’t factor in individual medical history, such as McCain’s battles with potentially lethal skin cancer.

“For a man, that’s above the expected lifetime at the present,” said Michael Powers, a professor of risk management and insurance at Temple University’s Fox School of Business.

The odds of a 72-year-old man living four more years, or one full White House term, are better. But for a man who has lived 72 years and 67 days (McCain’s age on Election Day this year), there is between a 14.2 and 15.1 percent chance of dying before Inauguration Day 2013, according to the Social Security Administration’s 2004 actuarial tables and the authoritative 2001 mortality statistics assembled by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

4. My prediction is that when she does, she will choose a "friend",
that is, someone like Katie Couric or Andrea Mitchell, who will give sympathetic clucks and an air of sorority of "We did it!" for on-air female bonding.

not the candidate, she has the guts to run........the insult is that the McCain staff doesn't think the American people deserve to question the person who could be President by February 1, 2009

if I were them, I would be hounding him with questions about her and not ask him anything. Force them into exposing her lack of knowledge and experience. I swear, we should be ahead 70 - 30. Their idiotic base is all they should have. Frustrating!!!!

17. Fine.
If she won't answer questions then we'll have to tell everyone who she is - a religious zealot, book-banning, in bed with the oil industry, lying about her record, worst VP nominee in U.S. history! Like I said last night, we need to write letters, send e-mails & debunk everything they're trying to sell about this true threat to our liberties.

Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 10:33 AM by felinetta
Of course she's not aloud to talk. They clamp down on free
speech even for their own VP pick. I know she's dumber than a
bag of doorknobs and is too stupid to be outraged and
insulted. She just loves flattery and being fawned over. And
while they gush over her, the repugs are too dumb to see what
a violent and dangerous person she actually is and what she
has in store for America.

29. Maybe this is why
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin seems to have switched colleges at least six times in six years, including two stints at the University of Idaho before graduating from there in 1987.

Federal privacy laws prohibit the schools from disclosing her grades, and none of the schools contacted by The Associated Press could say why she transferred. There was no indication any were contacted as part of the background investigation of Palin by presidential candidate John McCain's campaign.

"Our office was not contacted by anyone," said Tania Thompson, spokeswoman for the University of Idaho in Moscow.

Palin, the governor of Alaska, was born in Idaho. Her family moved when she was only a few months old to Alaska, where she was raised.

According to a biography — "Sarah" by Kaylene Johnson — Palin and three friends went to the University of Hawaii at Hilo after graduation from high school in Alaska in 1982. But they left after a few weeks because of the constant rain there, the book said.

The registrar at Hawaii-Hilo has no record that she ever enrolled, school officials said Thursday.

Palin, then known as Sarah Louise Heath, and a friend then traveled to Honolulu and enrolled at Hawaii Pacific University, a private, nonsectarian school. She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982, school spokeswoman Crystale Lopez said.

She was in the business administration program as a full-time student, Lopez said Thursday.

"We're trying to track down someone who knew her," Lopez added.

From Hawaii Pacific, Palin transferred to North Idaho College, a two-year school in Coeur d'Alene, about 30 miles east of Spokane. She attended the college as a general studies major for two semesters, in spring 1983 and fall 1983, spokeswoman Stacy Hudson said.

"We were not able to track down club affiliations or anything," Hudson said.

The school identified one of her professors but he did not remember her, Hudson said.

30. Of course she won't talk to the press
If she did, she would be exposed for the brainless, clueless, completely unprepared ditz that she is.

She's going to be given the Bush treatment, trotted out in front of guaranteed friendly audiences and lots of teleprompter reading. About the only unscripted moment she's going to have is her debate with Biden, and I hope that he goes after her early and often. The people of America need to be shown that this person is completely unprepared for the role she's taking on, and the role she could potentially take on. Oh, and Joe, while you've got her up in front of the live cameras, ask her the tough questions about her relations with the AIP and the white supremacist movement and secession movement in Alaska, show the world what a truly RW freak she is.
