It is amazing from the housing crash to the job losses, that this election is so close in your states

You do realize that mccain voted 90% with bush, and that he will pursue those same policies?

1. We are struggling here in Florida
Here in Orlando, Tourism is low, I have seen more foreclosed homes here than ever before. Gas is killing us (which is why tourism is declining. Here in florida, this state hasnt voted democrat since 1996.

12. My parents live about 1 hour from orlando in the winter.
I can't believe how much things cost there. I'm from Massachusetts-which has one of the highest costs of living in the country-and it costs my parents more to go to the grocery store there than in Boston. Not to mention that gas typically runs 30-40 cents more than in eastern MA. There are more poor people in FL also. I don't know how they make ends meet. :-(

9. I am in California. My retorical comment was not made to you but
to those who blindly have been voting for bush

There is no question that 2006 was significant, especially in Ohio, where something turned around

3. In Jacksonville....
...only 14% of the population has a bachelor's degree. The old money will vote McCain and the undereducated are eating right out of Palin's hands, and the African Americans will be intimidated into not voting because this is Florida.

4. The good news is: There's no more Blackwell gumming up the works.
The bad news is: 15-17 out of 88 counties are forced to carry the load for a great deal of scared and unreachable fundamentalpatient dumbasses in the other counties who just don't git it. I live in one of those 15-17 counties.

6. Blackwell stole Ohio
Democrats are counting the votes this time.

The industrial northern tier of Ohio was decimated by NAFTA.

Hard to pin that on only the Repugs.

But the hicks in the sticks will not vote Democratic, anyway.

13. I'm a lifelong Buckeye resident... here's a story about my RW fundie aunt:
* Thinks Palin is an 'outstanding' choice for VP, and was especially impressed with Palin's beauty pageant participation.

* Thinks Al Gore is a 'loony treehugger'.

* Refuses to use any "Helluvagood" brand chip-dip ('because its Satanic') at family gatherings; incredibly, a tub of the stuff always ends up on the table.

* Thinks any salad that is not made up of 100% iceberg lettuce is 'too exotic'.

* Cheated on my late uncle, who had also lost his job in the auto industry. Oh, the the way, he killed himself.

* Sent all kids to private Christian school because the public school system was overrun with 'unruly' blacks and hispanics (see below).

* Oldest daughter (my cousin) became pregnant while still in her teens. The baby which resulted was dark-skinned. The story then emerged that she had been "raped." Oddly, there was no mention of rape during the pregnancy itself, or the baby shower and hasty wedding to the (caucasian) boyfriend.

Not surprisingly, that whole family is gung-ho McCain/Palin 2008!
