Dear Sarah Palin:
Please note that I have heard of you again denigrating the profession and calling of the community organizer. I would like to inform you, that if it weren't for community organizers you would not have the right to vote, let alone be nominated as Vice President. If it weren't for community organizers the the rural confines of your hometown would not be developed to the point that it is, ie electricity, streets etc. Historically small towns were left out of the progress and benefits of the larger urban cores. If it were not for community organizers you would not have been able to attend those six colleges that you were able to scratch your journalism degree from. If it were not for community organizers you would not have been able to work in the TV field of sports broadcasting and if it were not for community organizers (specially women) you would not have achieved the status of governor. On a more personal note for you, if it were not for community organizers (in many states) you would have been legally barred from being able to marry your husband.

On a personal note from me...I was born in Germany to a mother who lost her leg from the war, lived in near squalid conditions for the first 2 years of my life. My dad was sent to Vietnam (when we supposedly were not there) was shot in Vietnam in early January of 1961 and died as a result 3 years later when I was 7. I attended a Roman Catholic School that provided a LIBERAL peace and justice themed education. Almost all my adult life, I have worked in various fields for the cause of peace and justice...often that meant knocking on doors, working with economically disadvantaged kids, manning phone banks and at one time running for US congress myself. It's not glamorous work. It has long hours, some times is tedious and often you may not see direct results for years and years. But to me, it is a high and noble calling..one in which John Kennedy quoted "ask not what your country can do for you..." and also one in which I am a servant of my brother and sister.

How dare you mock me. When have you worked, really worked with out the glamour, the pay or the seeking of power? The pure selfishness of your statement, which has been a theme since your hero Reagan was elected is astounding. The next time you want to laugh at me, please join me in the food bank, the health clinic, the phone bank, the watching of scared and homeless kids etc before you laugh.

Thank you!
