I'm not sure how even the Repugs could argue that their party made a better case. All they did was attempt to make a case against the Democrats; they had next to nothing to say about what their own party would do.

9. I voted. But what gets me is how does an article like this not show up
further up the page???

"U.S. risks Russia row with Ukraine NATO backing"

# U.S. backs Ukraine bid for NATO membership a day after doing so for Georgia
# The move is likely to increase tensions with Russia over its former republics
# U.S. Navy command ship earlier arrived in Georgian port of Poti to deliver aid
# Russia is worried that such a warship should be allowed into the area

The United States has backed Ukraine's bid for NATO membership a day after similarly supporting Georgia, in a move which may further stoke tensions with Russia. Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, left, welcomes U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney in Kiev on Friday.

U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney met with Ukraine's pro-Western president Victor Yushchenko in the capital of Kiev on Friday, the third stop of a tour that has already taken him to two other former Soviet republics -- Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The meeting came on the same day as the United States' top warship arrived in the Georgian port of Poti to deliver humanitarian supplies, fueling Russia's fears that its superpower rival is making its presence felt in the Baltic region.

Russia said the vessel's technical characteristics raised questions about whether it should be allowed into the area, Russian news agency Interfax reported.

14. You think this administration wouldn't mind sparking the Cold War2
if it helps them get John McCain elected? I don't. They know the personal stakes that are at risk if they lose control of the White House. They will do anything, use any option available to create a major international incident that will raise the anxiety level of the American voter. I hope the American people will see this for what it is, but I'm not holding out much hope.

that the media is so in their back pocket that we barely hear a whisper about it.

course, the Christian Right just do it for the money, but bush does it for power.

34. Oh, I think they both do it for the power and money. The top televangelists are
ridiculously rich and have far too much influence over politics. ** has his power-gasms, but he's also gone out his his way to make life easy (and rich) for corporations and oil companies, whom I have no doubts will be slipping him money and favors in repayment.
