Each Alaska resident, regardless of age, is entitled to receive an annual check from the Alaska Permanent Fund, whose assets are comprised of oil royalties and investment returns. Because of the high price of oil, this year's distribution is anticipated to be larger than usual -- $2,069 according to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell. Alaska gets $10 billion in revenue from BIG OIL (windfall taxes by the STATE), yet McCain opposes windfall taxes NATIONALLY on oil companies.

Why is it OK for Paler to tax the OIL COMPAINES and help manage the budget of Alaskans and the State, but not the rest of the country?
