Putting the jet on ebay was one of the reasons for Palin's extremely high approval ratings in Alaska
The state has always provided transportation for the Governor andother Depts such as Public Safety (State Troopers, Fish & Game)Buying the luxury jet was rejected numerous times by the people by large margins but the Governor at the time, Frank Murkowski, decided to go behind the people's back and buy it anyway. It was completely a vanity thing as it was unable to land in many if not most remote villages and municipalities. One of Palin's very first acts as new Governor was to put that jet on ebay. Her approval ratings soared because the people were disgusted by Murkowski and his arrogance. Alaska is totally controlled by Republicans, it has a veto proof majority in both houses and has for over a decade. Palin sided with some of the Democrats on some spending issues and Vetoed the Republicans Budget requests on several things. The Governor of Alaska has line item veto authority and she used it against her Party which made her even more popular. Just thought I would give a little back ground as to why she would even bring up the jet on ebay thing..She did put it on ebay and did so twice. Although it did not sell there she didn't LIE about the ebay thing at all. It gained her huge approval in Alaska.

1. Before that, she put up her integrity for auction.
Didn't get much for it, but it went pretty fast.

2. Facts are a good thing
but the McBush team are pushing that it actually sold on Ebay for a $200,000 profit. I hear it sold for a $600,000 loss. I'm really tired of the lies.

and it wasn't sold by her - another state employee sold the new jet to a friend at a huge loss for the state.

4. Yes, she sold it at a loss through a broker because no one

bought it on E-Bay. She probably would still have gotten approval for it anyway because at a loss, there still would have been savings on the maintenance and running of it. The problem is lying about selling it on E-Bay for a profit.

What is wrong with these Republicans? They have to lie about everything, even when it isn't a necessary means to their ends.

5. From what I hve heard it was McCain that actually said she "sold" it and at a "profit"
Palin did not say that from what I have heard. I did not see either speech or listen to either of them since then. I was just stating a belief I have on why she even mentioned placing the jet on ebay. It made her popular to do so..

6. It is still a lie.
I felt misled. If my kid had told me that, I would have said they lied to me. Why do we allow politicians all kinds of manuevering so that they can still say they told the truth, just not the "whole" truth? Talk about attacking Bill Clinton for the meaning of "is".
