Not Me! I want an intelligent thoughtful non-reactionary such as Obama running the show! Let's put the word out, this is not the time for McCain style bomb bomb politics nor Palin style shoot first ask questions later style politics!!! There is no brain there! We want people smarter than us running the country, not a guy from the bottom of his class nor a girl who attended 5 colleges in 6 years! This is not elitist we MUST demand leaders of QUALITY!!!!!!

6. That's my problem with the beer thing, too.
I would never want to kick back with the assholes that this meme suggests that I would. Never. Not even if they paid for it.

As long as they have a good grasp on world history, politics, some understanding of economics, a command of the constitution, a sense of what it means to have to work hard and struggle to make ends meet, and the ability to think clearly and rationally instead of in jingoistic terms. I would have a beer with that person and would not mind them running the country.

What I don't want running the country is someone who thinks that America is the ONLY country in the world or that the people are there to serve the ruling elite. Someone who got their career either through their daddy and granddaddy's connections or through backstabbing and trampling her enemies.

I think Obama would be very cool to have a beer with and some real interesting conversation about the world and the US.

McCain would creep me out checking out all the ladies and making them feel uncomfortable. Palin, if I had to listen to that voice, I would end up smashing the pitcher over my head to make the pain stop. Definitely not presidential material, either of them!!

4. Insulting To The American People
To offer her up as second in command is a bad joke. It is their agenda and she is perfect for them. They are not letting her speak to anyone now for good reason I'm sure. Keeping her under wraps until she's coached and programmed. I hope Biden does not go easy on her at the debate the way people are predicting so that he does not come off as a bully. This is not time to be "politically correct"
Our Nation is in peril and the stops need to be pulled out. I hope Biden comes out swinging and exposes this off the charts right wing freak for what she is! I'm so sick of this.

8. I'm someone you want to have a beer with!
I crack great jokes, I'll take care of you if you're hammered, I'll make the night really fun!

I am not presidential material....

The sad thing is that my grasp on economics, foreign relations, energy, climate change...(the list is long)... are much more informed than the "hockey mom w/ lipstick". I went to one college for 4 years - not 5 colleges in 6 years. I don't have a hubby in the oil industry. I see the world as a Silicon Valley 'soccer mom'. I see problems even here.

I want THE SMARTEST M'F*CKER in this country as president - I don't give a rats ass about drinking w/him or her.

11. Americans tried the "have a beer with" guy for the last
eight years. All it proved is that it doesn't pay to have an arrogant, stupid drunk in the White House. Of course some might argue "Yeah but that's Bush; not McCain." Maybe so, but McCain sided with that dumb drunk 90% of the time. To me, that fact raises two important questions about McCain:

1.) What does that say about his judgment?

2.) What does that say about his politics?

I think we all know the answers to both of those questions. It's long past time for us to send the "have a beer with guy" and all his cronies packing. This country is now in dire need of some real leaders; not addicts or geriatrics with cognition problems or unprincipled former small town mayors with no knowledge of the job.

14. What's frightening is that McCain brags about being at the bottom of his class!
He seems to think it is cute or charming that he was so intellectually bereft. I think he's even scarier than George Bush!

15. I'll say it again, even in the "Guy you'd rather have a beer with" contest, Obama and Biden win!
If I walked into a bar and had a beer with Obama and Biden, I'd probably end up shooting a few rounds of pool with them, have a cool conversation with them on everything from politics to philosophy to football to movies, and we'd have a blast!

If I had a beer with McCain, I'd try having a conversation, find out he's dumber than a sack of hammers, then he'd see someone looking at him funny, pick a fight with him, get the whole bar into a brawl, and we'd all be spending the night in jail.

If I had a beer with Palin, first, she'd try to convert me to her fundie brand of Christianity, then she'd hit on me, then she'd tell some other guy she's been vamping that I threatened her, causing another brawl, resulting in another night of bruised body and ego.

If I had a beer with Bush, he'd get his ass sloppy drunk, hit on some married woman, get pushed to the floor, then the bouncer would throw him out, and I'd be stuck dragging him home while he puked on my shirt.

Yeah. I'd much rather have a beer with Obama and Biden.

17. No I'd want a person with some brains and common sense
Mind you, I'd rather also have a beer with someone with some brains and common-sense!

The whole thing reminds me of my friend's story about her then 7-year-old son in 2004. He came home from school, saying that he and his friends had been talking about the American election (which was featured very prominently on TV here) and who they would vote for if they were in America. My friend said "And who would you vote for?" "Bush." "Why??!!) (my friend not being remotely RW-inclined.) "Because he looks better, and Kerry looks a bit stupid." "But you can't vote for people just on how they look. You have to find out what they want to do, and think about who would do the best job." "You mean you have to THINK about it??!"

Well, you could say that's why 7-year-olds don't get the vote; but unfortunately there seem to be many adults in many countries who vote by how someone looks, and don't believe that "you have to THINK about it",
