WASHINGTON, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is an excerpt from a column by Howard Fineman appearing in Newsweek and was released today by the Republican National Committee:

(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080519/RNCLOGO )

Democrat Strategist On Attacking Gov. Sarah Palin:

"Democrats Are Determined To Attack Her Credibility, Even If It Gives Her More Visibility. 'We've Got To Go After Her, And Fast,' A Top Democratic Strategist, Who Asked For Anonymity When Discussing Strategy, Told Me." (Howard Fineman, "Beware The Barracuda," Newsweek, 9/15/08)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So this is their excuse for holding her back from interviews....because the Dems actually are going to go after her on the issues or because the media isn't giving her deference???
:crazy:
Palin Media Avoidance Watch: Day 9 -- McCain Camp Says She Won't Do Interviews Until It Knows She'll Be Treated with "Deference"
September 07, 2008 9:41 AM
Rick Davis, campaign manager for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., just told Fox News Channel's Chris Wallace that McCain running mate Gov. Sarah Palin won't subject herself to any tough questions from reporters "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference."
Davis assailed the way the media had discussed Palin and her family in the last week and said the campaign would wait until a less hostile media environment.
So when will she subject herself to questions?
"When we think it's time and when she feels comfortable doing it," Davis said, praising a Fox News Channel profile of Palin that ran last night.
5. "The pitbull in lipstick can't handle an interview?"
Not unless she's allowed to circle over the interviewer in a prop plane while armed with a high powered rifle.
6. Palin is a weakling
intellectually and morally. She can read a teleprompter
but asked to defend her views, she scampers away like a cockroach.
12. Palin called Hillary a whiner for complaining about the media
And when Hillary pointed out actual media unfairness there was a chorus of "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
Looks like Caribou Barbie decided to get out of the kitchen.
16. Palin is not qualified to shine Hillary's shoes
Hillary had no problems staying in the kitchen. She even went to the lion's den a few times during the primary.
Are the American people going to elect a candidate that is uncomfortable talking to them? Or can they just have a beer with her but no questions?
21. She's Afraid Of This...
And we know who Ali is supporting this year. :bounce:
Today Tweety showed a video snippet of Grandma Barracuda's debate for Governor a couple years ago...showing her being a pit bull along the lines of the female shills we see on the TV food fights. She never let her opponent finish a sentence and just kept yammering talking points and insults...a tactic I'm sure is being worked on to try to make a shame of the VP debates. Compare that to Biden, who I saw in the DKos debates last year...a seasoned pro in both getting in the facts and the zingers. I feel real confident he'll let her hang herself in a debate...and embarass her party. He won't have to beat up on her, her over-the-top "pitbullshit" game will be overplayed.
Again, the GOOP is playing the low expectations game...and showing what a bunch of cynical hypocrites they are. Palin needs to be drawn out before the debates and forced to confront the media...the more she resists, the bigger a distraction it becomes and more the pressure will build. This is a fight that will pull a ton of resources from Camp Gramps and all but make Gramps a marginal player in his own campaign.
So come on out, Grandma...you'll have to sooner or later.
23. They're Obviously Trying to Buy Time to Get Her Up to Speed.
Given the apparent last-minute selection and lack of vetting, it's understandable that she's monstrously ignorant on the things she's supposed to know as a candidate for vice-president of the United States. I'm sure they're going to keep her away from any environment where her lack of knowledge would be exposed, at least until she's been edjumacated. And let's face it; she's only on the ticket to look young and pretty and snag Hillary voters: they don't want her saying much of anything, especially about her heretofore poorly investigated background.
