I just got Polled!
The pollster sounded foreign, and she was a little hard to understand. Another task that's been outsourced.

I was asked on views towards candidates, both local to Connecticut and Presidential and the issue I consider my biggest priority. I was also polled on likelihood to vote in this election and my party preference and how strongly I supported that party.

Sweet!

I listed the economy and creating jobs as my biggest priority, and I'm sure you can guess the other answers:toast:

2. No need to be nasty there, BlooInBloo...
I will just say YAY! You got polled. I got polled a few years back for real. Got push polled a couple of time too, but I just said that I refuse to be push polled and the pollster should be ashamed.

:D

3. Hey! In 'murika we speak 'murikan! Love it or leave it!

EDIT: For those who can't handle nuance: What's fucking nasty is the assumption that anyone with a foreign accent isn't American.

6. So you're implying I'm a bigot?
Because I believed the pollster with the Indian accent was likely in India? Yeah, whatever. It's not like many phone banking or support jobs are now based with agencies working overseas.

4. Thanks for the snarkiness.
It was not just the accent. Words were being mispronounced all throughout.

11. Funny, that. When I worked at Microsoft tech support on the phones in Bellevue, WA....
There were lots of Americans there. And many of them were from India. And they had accents and mispronounced words, too.

Damn furreners! USA! USA! USA!

BTW: Don't ever work tech support phones unless you have absolutely no other choice.

13. Is there anything useful you can bring to this thread?
Or are you just trying to be a colossal asshole.

You act like like I'm a repug, WTF! I just got the vibe that the person I was talking to was not based here in the USA. The accent, the crucified names and words, and the fact that that person didn't react to any of the funny jabs I had against McCain, Palin and Gov Rell. Either she was incredibly well trained and maintained absolute distance from her views while asking the questions (it is possible) or she didn't care because this wasn't an election for her.

18. Considering the number of jobs that have been outsourced
(especially with call centers) I think that would be the conclusion of most of us. No need to stir up shit.

10. I was too!
They asked me, among other things, who I would vote for in the Presidential election, McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden. I said I absolutely would NOT vote for McCain/Caribou Barbie and the pollster started laughing and said "Caribou Barbie, that's a good one". I then told him I would vote for Obama/Biden.

Fun!

12. I got polled 3 times already - never had that done before
and they were all done during the day. Made me wonder how good the polling was. Seems to me it would skew the results to only poll in the daytime.

21. Why didn't you skew the poll?
I think we should tell all the pollsters we're voting for McSame and watch the poll people scratch their head when Obama wins in a landslide.

Mark.
