What do you think of this article on the NSA?

Am I paranoid, or should I avoid use of the security products mentioned?

2. I don't have anything to hide..

except I'm always wary being a Democrat with the Repuke-controlled spying. I thought I'd put this out there to see if there was debunking. The NSA could probably break through anything, but I don't want my software facilitating them or not detecting their spyware.

It seems believable given the telecom immunity granted. Why grant immunity to corporations if they weren't doing what some in government high places wanted?

In my more melancholy moments, I've wondered if the entire purpose of the public Internet was primarily for government/corporate use as a spying tool and advertising server (advertising can be crafted to mold perceptions unrelated to the pimped product)
