Wow, Palin is truly nuts!

Lately I’ve been writing satirical pieces and wanted some material, so I checked out a Palin video on You Tube. She’s at the Assembly of God church praying and sounding like she’s three brain cells away from a faith healer. (If people think the link should be posted, I’ll do that; just know some will have their nineteenth nervous breakdown over it.)

The reasons for McCain and Palin to be kept out of the White House are myriad, but this one just jumped to the top of the list for me. The country cannot afford to have a person, this powerful, with a tenuous grasp on reality. In this regard she is worse than Bush. And that’s saying a lot for me.

This is not a knock on all religion, just this type of fundamentalism.


(Now I’m off to figure a way to satirize the bizarre; and have people recognize it as satire.)

I don't think people know what a religious zealot she is. As long as she's a church-going republican, they seem happy. Pentacostals scare me way more than Evangelicals.

drives me crazy! Her off the cuff (non-teleprompter) speaking is filled with "I's like..He's like.. way cool...so I's like, I's like, we's like" SHeesh...it reminds me of a teenager (like, like, like, like, like).
And I though the Shrub was a crappy speaker!

And I thought, this is the VP pick? You're kidding, right? I checked the date on the video in case I had missed something.

She cleaned up for her speech--I thought she did a decent job there for what she is--(nasty and ignorant as hell) but that 20 something speak is still there (no offense to 20 somethings. It's appropriate when you all do it, just not when your Mom does it to sound like a 20 something) Irritating to say the least.

I agree to a large degree with the various postings here on DU, exhorting us to NOT allow ourselves to get sucked into the "Palin Diversion". It only keeps ("Geriatric John") McCain off the radar. But simply posting that info about her "church" (and the "Joel's Army" reference), should be very effective!
