Secondly, I did not say which list. The Jets are apparently on the Sharks list of "most likely to be a troll". Whereas the Sharks are probably on the Jets list of "most likely to be a moonbat". A moonbat, in the eyes of a FReeper is anyone to the left of Joe Lieberman. However, to a moderate Democrat, a moonbat is somebody to the extreme left which makes the Democratic party look bad with their unreasoning hate and/or hysteria and/or paranoia.

Witness the division in TominTrib's thread between those applauding (Sharks) and those denigrating (Jets). It goes beyond that though, as those who applaud, denigrate those who disagree, and those who disagree denigrate those who applaud.

Can anything be taken at face value? I read once that politicians will analyze a statement based on the question "Why did he say that?" whereas scientists will analyze based on "Is it true?"

DU has had this argument before, but I myself would rather engage Republicans and conservatives in debate than banish them. It's a better way to persuade them and learn from their POV. On the other hand, we already have a broad swath of POVs just from the left side of the aisle. And no matter how things are done its always possible to get played.

They're the nervous ninnies who think we should lay off Caribou. They don't want us to fight back, but be the "good guys" who get run over. They're the holier-than-thou net nannies who think Tim Russert was a journalist.

These days, they're lucky to get to 5.

I think they're rapidly devolving before our eyes.
