A sad consequence of a weakening economy and softening housing market.
We probably all know people, and some of us right here, who have lost jobs or are underemployed making it impossible to make the mortgage payment. Some families are being squeezed because their work or job search forces them to relocate but they cannot sell the home they currently own.

This weekend I was faced with another reality that will go utterly unnoticed and dismissed as irrelevant by the GOP.

The elderly and infirm who have reached the point where relocation to assisted living is truly in their best interest but cannot do so because they have a home they cannot sell. I have a woman in my congregation who is not safe on her own. Either to herself or to others, but assisted living is not yet an option because of the economy the ruling party insists is perfectly healthy.

If anything happens to this woman and/or those around her, I hold them responsible.
