3. I'm not panicking. I prefer to call it "reacting to a tough situation by losing my focus
on the election (still two months away) and calling for a new strategy of "all attacks, all the time, in all areas". I hope that no one judges me harshly for my tendency to lose my head while others (Obama and Biden) are keeping theirs.

I just find this new strategy to be very emotionally satisfying. Who cares if it is politically smart of not. ;)

18. The media has always been corrupt.
The Repukes have always been corrupt. Well over half the people have always been stupid (on both sides, mind you.)

But guess what? Sometimes, when we have the right candidate and we handle our shit like adults and not pansy-ass babies we actually win. We took back the Senate and House in '06. We put the Big Dawg in for two terms in the 90s. We didn't do that by being piss-ants or whiners or panicking over one god-damned polling cycle.

Young people are energized for Obama. That's an under-polled, under-appreciated voting bloc that has every indication of delivering the election to us this time.

Stop flailing about. Panic doesn't solve shit, it just exacerbates the problem.

16. But it may have been just a palm frond.

When palm trees attack
12:36 PM, April 15, 2008

Along with earthquakes, freeway shootings and Britney, Southern Californians should be aware of another regional danger: falling palm fronds. Will Campbell, who writes the blog, was reminded of this hazard during the weekend when not one but 17 fronds fell from the top of a nearby palm tree as he relaxed in his backyard.

"From out of nowhere comes this woooooshing sound and I crane my neck far left just in time to see what looks to be the entire top of our 60-foot palm tree crashing down on the poor loquat tree next to it. Fortunately it wasn’t the entire palm tree top, just a helluva load of dead fronds."

All joking aside, people have been injured by falling palm fronds. In fact, in 2003 one tree trimmer in Westminster was actually killed when a collar of dead fronds slipped down the tree he was working on and crushed him. In Campbell's case, he was a safe distance away when the "frondage" hit the ground.
