I Am Angrier Today Than Last Night About Olbermann Being Replaced by David Gregory!
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 12:41 PM by David Zephyr
I have called NBC and MSNBC this morning about Keith being replaced on Debate Nights by David Gregory.

I have emailed them.

I will be telling everyone I know not to watch David Gregory for one second.

Keith Olbermann built up that audience of 1 million viewers night after night bravely on that shitty little cable network.

David Gregory is a shrimp of a human being and should not be awarded one single viewer of Keith's. Not one.

Everyone. Get on the phones and email and let these executives know that your viewing doesn't translate to Gregory.

The only thing these motherfuckers understand are ratings and advertising dollars: their salaries.

They don't get to switch the audience Keith built all on his on over to that brown nosing shell of a human being named David Gregory.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

7. Keith has been "replaced" on Debate Nights by Gregory because of intimidation.
I should have made my title clearer and I apologize.

The message is still the same.

My tv will go to MSNBC for Keith and Rachel each evening - that's it. For the debates, I'll watch C-Span.

I've had it.

9. Me, too.
Watching MSNBC for any of the convention coverage was an exercise in anguish.

C-Span was terrific. The only place to be.

5. Gregory is Karl Rove's dancing partner
He was dancing with Rove at the roast for Karl Rove a few years ago.

Gregory is a right wing tool.

6. You could see this coming

Matthews and Olbermann - and I like both of them - were terrible together. Just awful. Some people are made to be anchors, and some are made to be commentators. It was obvious that KO did not want to be there.

I don't understand your anger. This in no way affects "Countdown." It just means that David Gregory will anchor the election night coverage and the debates - and, let's face it, the "debates" are a joke.

What's the big deal?

21. Not for me
I'm a big MSNBC fan, but I found their coverage intolerable. The worst I've ever seen, and I AM OLD!

C-Span was much better.

8. Gregory has become the corporate tool "Dances With Rove"
I swear, that little routine at the press dinner
was the beginning of the end of Gregory's spine.
He has become just another brown-nosing a-hole
who "Dances With Rove" and anyone else GEM$NBC
tells him to get with ...

Olbermann will be PART of the coverage, though --
he and Matthews just won't be ANCHORING. You
know who's got to be pissed is TWEETY ... He's
ALWAYS been a corporate tool, and now he gets
booted from his co-anchoring gig because of K.O.

Boohoo Tweets!

22. Don't forget to let them know you view Gregory as biased. Here is an example:
I am a loyal supporter of MSNBC's political coverage. I am appalled that Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews would be pulled from anchoring election coverage and replaced with David Gregory. The reason MSNBC is doing well in the ratings is because loyal and WELL INFORMED viewers are tired of political insiders rattling off the GOP/Bush Administration talking points, and are interested in rational dialogue to address what has occurred in this country.

David Gregory lost his credibility when he chose to dance alongside political dirty trickster Karl Rove during a time when an investigation into Rove's connection in outing a covert CIA agent for political reasons. The only reasons his show ratings were halfway decent was because many viewers really like Eugene Robinson and Rachel Maddow. If he is the anchor expect your ratings to TANK!

I am very disappointed in this decision.
