So here I am, distributing literature in my home precinct...
That reminds me, I need to hit up our Democratic candidate for state senator (Rain Minns, campaigning for the 16th Senatorial District in Texas) for some more door-hanger literature. But I digress.

I spent a good chunk of this past weekend distributing campaign literature for Minns, and I still have a long way to go. But I've had one Republican woman approach me with two dogs a moment after I placed a hanger on her door, saying "We don't want Democrats here!" Fortunately, the two dogs were pugs, and they were quite friendly despite being Republicans themselves. Their human companion informed me that "Some of us aren't going to change our minds." That's okay, I responded, it's a free country, so vote as your conscience dictates. And that was that.

1. And you know this about the dogs how?
Are you sure you're being fair to the dogs?

:-)

3. That's what their human companion told me
I suspect that our cat is turning Communist, though. He looks at me whenever I come home and says "Mao!"

11. So the dog kennel
has burned down to make way for a "Glorious Meow Mix Factory?"

2. "We don't want Democrats here!"
Doesn't that just exemplify all the ignorant stereotypes attributed to Republicans?

It's the worst of the worst.

That woman can't - I'll bet anything on this - even tell you what a Democrat believes.

OK, here's what happens: she falls and hurts her leg and can't reach a phone. No on hears her calls for help. Night falls. The dogs get hungry....................

5. A more likely scenario...
She falls and hurts something and can't reach a phone. No one hears her calls for help. Night falls, and Derby, coming home from distributing literature, hears her neighbor in distress and goes to help her.

I'll bet she won't be the "no democrats allowed" attitude then.

6. Republicans around here are feeling the pressure
Yesterday, they had an ice cream social in our neighborhood park. I've never seen them do anything like that around here. And the current Republican state senator, John Carona, is in a dead heat with Rain Minns last I've heard. Woo-freakin'-hah.

9. I have a male Keeshond his name is Frosty who has hated pugs since I have had him
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 02:35 PM by NNN0LHI
He used to show so he might have had a bad experience in the ring with one of them I am guessing? He sees one a block away and just starts going nuts.

He hates them.
