Palin church: Alaska will be a 'refuge' for Armageddon
David Edwards and Muriel Kane
Published: Monday September 8, 2008

Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin has attended a number of different churches over the years, but for most of her adult life, she belonged to the Wasilla Assembly of God, which has attracted attention for its unorthodox beliefs and practices.

In June, Palin addressed graduates of a youth ministry program at that church, telling them, "It was so cool growin' up in this church and gettin' saved here."

CNN's Jessica Yellin looked into the church's beliefs and reports that it practices speaking in tongues and also "teaches that Alaska will be a shelter at the end of the world."

1. Perfect... another administration that wants to kill us all. Great.
I swear it's time we declare the armageddonists irrelevant and tell John Hagee to shut the fuck up.

5. it almost seems inevitable now..
...I'm beginning to snap to that. The election will be stolen for McCain, he will be eliminated, and the dominionists will have full control of the nuclear arsenal and weapons of war. The only way to stop it is an honest election.

4. there's lots more to be discovered
Start doing some reading and following links. The whole militant dominionist/survivalist stuff is barking mad, and they do talk about Alaska as being something important in their plans. Joel's Army has started to go underground with a different name. They are brainwashing youths in cult stuff, and recruiting for their extremist goals. People had better wake up fast about this stuff, and consider the fact that Palin is likely to control the nuclear arsenal and our armed forces by January. This crowd won't let an old man stand in the way of their mad post-apocalyptic "vision".

6. CHARGE HER AND THE CHURCH WITH MAKING THREATS
Why isn't there a Group charging her and her Church with making murder threats. That is what this is. We are not willing participants in this. We feel threatened. WHY ISN'T SOMEONE DOING THIS? Normally when it is just an isolated sect that stays to themselves that is one thing, but this now is an issue of National Security, Terrorist Threats and a host of other charges because this involves a whole Country that wields some influence. This is a reason to be attacked by another Country. Doesn't anyone know of a contact to start the process??????? It is on tape. Plenty of proof. If charges are brought against them, this would finally be brought into the public eye.

8. No, I am serious
I am not talking about Alaska. I am talking about someone/group charging her Church and her with Conspiracy to take over the Government and Terrorist threats oar intent to harm. I think the charge could be concerning "Terrorism" and I am sure all the damn laws on definition of what is terrorism would now apply. I think also that with all the actual video out there and also the strong involvement with that cult/Church that even if outed as a Cult, it would prove beneficial as it would be in the public spotlight. They are advocating "death" and their role in it afterwords as well as how to get there and given their teachings makes it no different from saying "the motive is to die and have seven virgins" etc....They are praying for her involvement in it. For pete's sake. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this is a bigger issue than abortion rights, etc....

9. Ya know, this seems to be a fairly common belief among the fundies in Alaska.

Or at least in Palin's church and in Fairbanks. I lived in Fairbanks for a while, and I heard this thing about Alaska being a refuge during Armageddon more than once. Fairbanks is an interesting city. It has more churches and more bars than any place I've ever been. As a co-worker there said, "If you've got one, you need the other."

My opinion after living there is that if Fairbanks, Alaska is going to be a refuge, you'd be better off dying during the "tribulations" or whatever they call it.
