GPS for a keg? It could keep a thief from illegally cashing in
Cincinnati — Last month, we told you local beer kegs are becoming a prime target for thieves. Now, some beer distributors are fighting back buy putting GPS tracking devices on their kegs.

Cincinnati liquor stores are attaching blue GPS devices to their kegs.

Thieves trade in kegs for cash. The price of stainless scrap has nearly doubled in the last five years, making an 18-pound keg worth more than $35.

1. I suspect a thief wouldnt have a problem with
Simply destroying the GPS device.

Besides...wouldnt a GPS cost alot more than the $30 or so for the keg?
