How to deal with rightwingers & fundies: Use their fears against them!
I have found it to be very effective when dealing with the rednecks, idiots and fundies that I'm surrounded by....

You have to use their racist & fundy fears against them... try this one time: ask one of these anti-abortion rednecks "hey Bubba, you mean to tell me that if your sister/mother/daughter got raped & knocked up by a black man you'd want to raise his baby in your family??" Watch them sputter for an answer...

For the whackjob fundies, just remind them that "Jesus loves the little childrem, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black & white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world.." also remind them that Jesus commanded them to LOVE one another.

I have a tendency to just get raw with a few of them because, well... because they're ignorant, and I'm the type of person who really doesn't give a fuck if the truth hurts your feelings or not. Truth is black and white, if it hurts, you're fucking up somewhere.. figure out where and work on fixing it...

5. For me personally, yes it does work.. but I know *how* to use those fears against them
I used to be a member of the most feared hate group in America, the Aryan Brotherhood, and I used to recruit members using the same tactics... it's a psychological game played to win their minds over...

2. When they go on about abortion...
I point out that abortion is illegal in places like Saudi Arabia, then I ask them why they want to be like the "terrorists".

3. And tell them how you like Bush-McCain's socialist policies
of re-distributing wealth to Iraq with all the billions in reconstruction funds and outsourcing jobs to India and manufacturing to China to help them poor folks out there.

4. Don't forget to mention McCain and Palin both failing to live up to their family roles.
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 05:09 PM by JVS
McCain: adulter

Palin: adulteress, mother who put career ahead of family and ended up with a prego daughter.

6. ask them how many draft age boys they have in their families
And remind them that if McCain wants to go into Iran it will REQUIRE a draft of all able-bodied young men to carry it on. And that McCain expects us to also stay in Iraq for 100 years.

You might also want to throw in the statistics of 67% of the kids who went to the first Iraq war are now showing signs of genetic damage due to being exposed to depleted uranium. That bodes well for the next generation....

7. Not as bluntly as all that, but more subtly, yes...

Here's the thing. They've been politically manipulated to think that "war is good" and "poor people are bad".

Now, for a group that is sensitive to being "deceived" by Satan, you have to ask them just who is it that Satan is interested in deceiving: believers or unbelievers. Then, you want to ask them how it is that Christians have been politically manipulated into believing things like "war is good" and "poor people are bad".

The GOP convention had all of those signs that said "Country First". Ask them who is first in their life and whether "Country First" is a slogan they should live by.

To an honest Christian, "Country First" is blasphemy in violation of the first commandment.

8. I shut one down today by informing her I no longer wanted to
discuss politics with her because she was a LIV. Of course she didn't know what that meant, I just laughed and said "see, you make my point, you're a low information voter and will continue to be until you stop watching Fox and getting the talking points from the repuke party." As I left her mouth was still agape. I felt good all day...

9. What you did was the one thing the GOPhers don't expect: you spoke first.
They always expect that we have no response to their "irrefutable arguments", so they always start conversations with their lies.

What you did was start the conversation with the truth.

11. When "pro-lifers" bring it up, I ask them if they like the idea of the..
government FORCING them or their family members/friends to go through pregnancy and childbirth against their will.

Most cringe and change the subject.

this election has made it even easier to do. In the end, they get all pissy and tell you where to go and then you KNOW you got 'em!

WalMart / China Mart

I guess they think Jesus said that aborting Oriental babies is okay.

17. I'd reallly push them on a woman being President
It is anti-feminist, but so are they. Deep down, they must have this fear. They've been saying women belong in the home for decades. How can they suddenly switch that view without some doubts? Especially when Tundra Barbie has a baby! to their view, she should be home taking care of that child and must be coldly ambitious to do otherwise.

McWar really messed up on that one. He could have found a fundie male.
