Wow, if he shows these same signs in the debates, this really could be a factor in the election.

2. I know that a blooper reel could be put together for any candidate
But still.... gah! This was almost embarrassing to watch!

The way he laughs at himself sometimes, after he screws up, seems appealing but it's kind of pathetic really. Sad. (But way sadder for us if he gets into office.)

4. An interesting side note, from an article a year ago

http://blogs.usatoday.com/onpolitics/2007/09/mccain-continue.html

Sen. John McCain "often light-heartedly spars with people who ask him uncomfortable questions at town hall meetings and other events," our Gannett colleague Dan Nowicki of The Arizona Republic writes at his McCain Central blog. And the Republican presidential candidate doesn't shy away from repeating jokes, even when he gets criticized for them. Remember "bomb, bomb, bomb ... bomb, bomb Iran"?

Yesterday, as we reported, McCain jokingly called a high school boy in New Hampshire a "little jerk" for bringing up the senator's age (71) and asking whether he's worried about dying in office.

Later, Nowicki writes, McCain was asked about the boy.

"You mean the little guy that said I was suffering from Alzheimer's?" McCain asked. "He was a little jerk." Then the senator added that once again, he was just joking: "No, you've got to have, especially with young people but with everybody, a sense of humor."

The kid didnt mention alzheimer's.

14. And I must retract it...
I just looked up the question and the kid DID mention alzheimer's:

"If elected, you'd be older than Ronald Reagan, making you the oldest president," the student said. "Do you ever worry that you might die in office or get Alzheimer’s or some other disease that might affect your judgment?"

9. My partners Mother has Alzheimers... stage 2 (better read this)

we watched her go thru the onset, stage 1, then stage 2.. and I will say this definatively, based on my observations of McCain and my personal experience.

McCain is deep in stage 1 Alzheimers. Period. There is NO DOUBT to me.

20. Nor to me. Something has been nagging at me about his behavior over the last 18 months or so.
I really did not want to think it, but with the speculation beginning I have to admit it makes sense. I hope that is not the case because I would not wish Alzheimers on anyone. Tragic all the way around.

I have had one family member and several parishioners suffer with the disease. In every single case, the temper got shorter. Completely understandable because of the frustrating nature of the disease. Although I believe McCain has always been one nasty SOB, I think his recent tantrums make sense in this context. I sure hope it's not true though.
