Scientists Prove Evolution Through “Palin Gene”
Or, How So Many Came to Love the Bomb.

Stanford University – Scientists announced a major discovery today; further proof of evolution using genetics. By isolating a gene constant in all lower primates, but only present in an estimated 31% to 36% of Homo sapiens, scientists from Oxford and Yale Universities have proved that not only has evolution happened, but that humans are in the process of evolving today.

First hypothesized by modern day Renaissance man, Thom Hartmann, in 1983, as a way to explain how the same people always fall victim to propaganda. “I thought there must be a genetic component to this phenomenon. We’ve known for decades, if not centuries that propaganda works on some people, consistently, and on others not at all,” Thom said from his studio/laboratory. “The way it worked on Reaganities was a give-a-away; I’m glad now that it was finally confirmed.”

Called the ‘Palin Gene’ for the obvious susceptibility of her fans, it seems to be present in the majority of Fox News viewers and Ditto Heads.

“The final breakthrough came yesterday when we had two subjects that have the suspected gene and two control subjects thought to be more evolved,” said Doctor Reason. “And we had all four hooked up to PET scan machines while watching a video of Obama talking about McCain. As you can see here, the blue in the cerebral cortex means there is mild brain activity on all four subjects with no conflict. But one hour later the four were made to watch a Fox News story about the video and the two Palin fans had completely forgotten what they saw and were now outraged by the Obama story and were shouting ‘Lipstick!’ The two more evolved people had activity in this portion of the brain, which proves they were mad about being lied to.”

“Are there any physical characteristics?” Asked a reporter from the Globe. “No,” said Doctor Reason, “that would be from the much more rare Cheney gene.”
“Then, is there anyway to tell these people apart from normals?”
“Yes there is, if you ask them about WMD’s, they’ll say the weapons were moved to Syria.
“Oh, and yes, this does mean creationists are less evolved.”

1. First time I didn't have to explain, it's satire.

2. I liked what you wrote and smiled through it, but...
I LOLed when I read your "reply" to your OP.

I don't do satire well; especially since I seem to be stuck on 'snark' these days. Snark undoes all satirical qualities. :)

and most people get it, if they read it. But most times, some people reply after reading only the headline. Like when I wrote a piece called 'Rove Opens School For Evil' the first person to reply asked for proof. That's why I put in the line about the bomb, on top.

:D

Lot of subject-line-reader then post types. It happens. Sometimes because the board moves fast, sometimes...just cuz, I guess.

If you'll pardon the expression, I feel your pain.

BTW, welcome to DU. :hi:

edit: spelling
