I'll be here all day. Check in, if like me, you just can't afford to feel lonely today.

2. thanks laylah
Ijust popped my first Xanax of the day so hopefully my anxiety will be subsiding soon. What's everyone else take for breakfast? I like a Xanny with a side of vicodan and my coffee.

4. I had to drop off a couple meds for a while and it's kicking my ass
I mostly just try to sedate myself during the day but I have to stay up today because we have workers coming to the apartment. I just wanted to sleep this day away and not remember anything.

5. Guess it's just you and me laylah
Used to be a time on DU more people would check in on a thread like this. No one can even manage a smiley hug anymore it seems. Sigh.

15. No, we aren't alone
shadow. Most of "the family" is probably at work. We be fine. How is your day progressing? Raining here now, which doesn't help the mood but I have enjoyed a couple of movies.

6. I avoid TV and radio on this day
I still break down and it's just to hard to see it run over and over again.

Seeing it once was enough.

Hugs to you Shadow.

Boston and NYC grew closer that day.

9. I was in radio at the time so we were just totally immersed in it for weeks
I couldn't even do my job to distract me. I was a production director (commercial production and station continuity) and we instantly dropped all ads for several days, maybe even weeks IIRC. A friend of mine was in radio news in Albany at the time at WGY and he said it was insanity over there. I can only imagine what NYC and DC was going through.

8. I call my son......
and try to forget the fiancée that was in the upper floors.

I take a bunch of antis....anti-depressants, antacids, b/p stabilizers.....and I meditate. Several times.

And yeah, I don't like to be alone either.

11. Don't............
I was thinking about it anyway. It's NOT a good day for me, and I was decidedly unhappy about the "memorial" at the RNC, which I did see. Kudos for Keith, who was the only one who stood up!

16. Thank you
I accidentally turned on MSNBC and they are showing the footage that they put on the air live seven years ago. Thinking it might be interesting since I did not watch them that day, I left it on for a while. Then the second plane hit. I started shaking and crying, just like I did that day. I am so upset and angry I cannot watch the theater of the memorial services.

I have to go in a little bit, so I will not be at home all day alone as usual, but knowing that there would be someone here helps. Instead, I will be out registering voters so we can get a real President in the White House instead of the puppet regime that has been in charge.

18. Just got back from voter registration at a small local BBQ
We registered the owner - first time he has ever registered to vote (and the first voter I ever personally registered!). He was amazed at how easy it was and is excited about being able to vote for the first time. He was born in 1947.

I am pissed that in that little African-American semi-rural community no one have ever encouraged voter registration. I guess I will make that one of my main places until the deadline - and maybe afterwards, though they would not be able to vote in this historic election, they would in the future.

The sad part is that in the two hours we were at the BBQ place, only one customer stopped by. He warned us business is slow. But he knows a lady in his church that wants to have us do voter registration at their church, so I may follow up on that this weekend if the weather is not bad.

This effort made me feel better - and has inspired me to try harder for my area's potential voters.
