DISASTER! I'm in the direct path of Hurricane Ike...
...and it's non-stop local news coverage of the coming hurricane, which means I'll miss the (feux) Palin interview on ABC!

Anyone know of a site where I can watch it online? :)

Thanks.

1. How about right here?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=385&topic_id=187267&mesg_id=187267

I'm in the same boat; no real news today, all hurricane coverage. But frankly, I don't much care what ms. mooseburger has to say.

3. Lordy Sis, Please be careful
I intensely hate hurricanes and want you to be safe and I can do nothing to help you be safe except urge you to leave.

6. Hey, BOSS...
we've been told to hunker down by the powers-that-be; I'm apparently not in a zone deemed to be dangerous enough to evacuate. I'm about 20 miles away from any kind of water except a swimming pool, we have most of the house boarded up, everything picked up and put away to lessen flying objects, lots of canned goods getting chilled, and the larder is stocked. We should be fine. I imagine I'll lose power, but will be back in touch ASAP.
And 'thank you for your concern'; that's one of the few times I've ever typed that and meant it!

9. Fill that bathtub, too
because if the worst happens and you lose water, you'll be grateful that you have something to drink, wash in, and flush the toilet with.

10. Good idea; thanks, Warpy.
I've got the drinking and flushing (pool) water covered, but after a few days w/o running water, I imagine I'd be grateful for that bathtub. Will do.

I'm close to Spring and I'm guessing we'll do okay, hopefully. Have fun partying!

Might be partying tomorrow night; I'm beat tonight from battening down the hatches. Stay safe, cat_girl25!

25. You're south of Hobby and no evac called?
That area must be higher than I thought, otherwise I can't imagine y'all not being asked to leave.

Stay safe. :)

13. Um, you don't drink the water from the tub
it's used to flush the toilet.

19. Depends on how thirsty you get
and after the first three days in Houston heat, that's pretty damned thirsty.

17. Stay safe, sweetie.
We didn't leave last week although evacuation was mandatory. I'm pretty far from the Lake so I wasn't concerned about flooding as much as I was concerned about falling trees. Five trees went down but damage was limited to the fences.

We boarded up and had a houseful of about 20.

Do you have a generator? We were without power 4 days, but the generator was a big help.

Take care. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm sure we'll be fine. We're hunkerin' down but good!

7. Where are you? I'm in SA.
If it hits Galveston we are in the path I think. The flooding here could be severe. I just got home.

21. The latest forecasts look like SA and Austin will be spared
Ike seems to be going much further east than expected, both at landfall and after. Rita Part 2. Which kind of sucks for you guys, since you could have used the rain. :)

23. Two hurricanes and a tropical storm will have hit Texas this year.
Austin has gotten two drops of rain.

I don't recall a year as dry as this one. Sorry Corpus Christi, but I was kind of hoping this would have come your way. :(

I'm sure Palin's wonderful (in the sense of you just gotta wonder WTF she was thinking) words will be regurgitated everywhere including online. Try ABC news website.
