1. You'd think such a devout Christian would name their firstborn
something along the lines of Noah, Adam, Joseph, Timothy, etc., etc.

40. I was thinking that as well
when I was a child in Catholic schools I will never forget a nun giving my friend Tammy(Tamara) shit because she was not named anything biblical. My own son has an unusual first name and the priest we took him to for baptism mumbled about it not being from the bible but it was ok because his middle name was a variation of James!

wtf?

19. The girls middle names haven't been reported yet. Your guesses?
http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1219&u_sid=10427620
Sarah Palin's sons are Track Enfield and Trig Paxson Van. Her daughters are Bristol, Willow and Piper. (The girls' middle names, if any, haven't been reported.)

(clip)

When Trig was born in April, his father told the Anchorage Daily News that "Trig" was after a great-uncle. It's also an Old Norse word meaning "true" or "trustworthy." Paxson is an Alaskan town noted for snowmobiling, and Van is from the name of the rock band Van Halen. As young people in the '80s, Todd Palin has said, they thought Van Palin would be a really cool name.

Palin explained his other kids' names in a recent interview with People magazine: "Sarah's parents were coaches and the whole family was involved in track and I was an athlete in high school, so with our firstborn, I was, like, 'Track!' Bristol is named after Bristol Bay. That's where I grew up, that's where we commercial fish. Willow is a community there in Alaska. And then Piper, you know, there's just not too many Pipers out there and it's a cool name."..

They sound like normal AK names to me, but am having fun mocking parents.
Bristol Myers-squibb?
Willow Bark-tea?
(pay the) Piper please?

The spelling is correct. Maybe she has hunted with an Enfield? Track could relate to hunting as well.

33. Kids today have the nuttiest names
When I was teaching public school we used to joke in the teacher's lounge that parents threw down Scrabble tiles and whatever came up was the baby's name. There were some lulus, believe me, that would put Hollywood celebs to shame for their strangeness.
