Shocking report about US troops in Iraq -- on BBC America later today
Yesterday I made a post with the aim of informing y'all about this very powerful 17-minute video that shows the life and death of US soldiers serving in Iraq during the summer of 2008.

The report was first shown in the UK on BBC2 on Wednesday night (10/9).

The report will be shown on the weekly edition of "Newsnight" on BBC America.

You can see it today (9/12) at 6pm or 10pm Eastern. Or Sunday (9/14) at 8am Eastern.

But if you don't have cable TV - you can also watch the full 17 minute report online.

The footage is raw and unfiltered. (WARNING: curse words are audible)

Here's the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/7609592.stm

The BBC America website also has a short trailer for the same report.

See: http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/300/thisweek.jsp

This new report is the latest in a series of photo and video reports made by Sean Smith.

You can find them on the website of The Guardian (England's original liberal newspaper):

Here's the homepage: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/series/seansmithiraq

Here is another video that was made by Sean Smith back in October 2006: http://www.guardian.co.uk/video/page/0,,1927660,00.html

The same video is up on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22pfqQRL7mQ

Please keep this kicked and rec'd for your fellow DUers! :patriot:

5. I just hope they don't come home thinking that their war has only began
Theres been some big changes here that we may not notice so much because we've been living them each day but you know those kids coming home from being shielded from any real news of what is going on here stateside are going to be shocked, some I would bet will be pissed to find out what has been going on that they hadn't heard about. Like the Patriot act, spying on US citizens etc.

7. Unfortunately,
if you watch it again you will see that not all the featured soldiers survived their tour in Iraq.

2. Wait until Track Palin gets over there
and finds out it's not as much fun as a moose hunt.

Wait until he realizes that this time he's the moose.

4. Track Palin will see as much action in Iraq as Roger Staubach saw in Viet Nam!
In the rear with the gear (and the beer) ..

6. I'm not sure there is a "rear" this time
Your best bet is the Green Zone -- and even that get shelled from time to time
