Sure there are times, even most times in our lives when we have to be polite and not make waves. But I’ll be damned if we’re supposed to sit quietly and be called angry liberals, as if just being a liberal made us ill-adjusted. Bullshit!

Unlike the right wing, our anger is not manufactured, nor trivial. While they get angry about things like ‘lipstick on a pig,’ taken out of context, or angry at people who call Bush a war criminal; we’re angry with Bush for being a war criminal! We are angry at the Bill of Rights being systematically destroyed, at torture being institutionalized, at spying on Americans without warrants, at attacking a country that posed no threat and did not attack us, but having one million people dead because we did. We have every right to be angry. The fact that Osama bin Laden is free, but we’re spending blood, treasure and the next generation’s future in Iraq, is not trivial, and we should never let the right wing cast us as unbalanced, or even let them pretend that their angry is equivalent to ours. Ever!

It's like dealing with bullies in the schoolyard or workplace. "You should stop being so angry. It's really unseemly." FTS.

The feeling of being a thinking person cast adrift in a sea of mindless morons is a powerful one and leads easily to anger. You can't even attempt to accurately explain the feeling without appearing angry or insulting, any sufficiently powerful analogy will be taken as a deliberate insult.
