The eye is currently headed directly over Downtown Houston. This is the nightmare storm. 100 billion dollars in damage. Over 5 million people did not evacuate from the storm.

Interactive map with storm track headed 5 miles south of Houston. The "dirty side" of the storm with the strongest winds will directly hit Houston for at least 4 hrs.

2. 90,000 did not evacute the mandatory evacuation zones in Galveson and the coast
Houston was largely asked to hunker down in place and not evacuate. Good luck to all in its path - it sounds like many can use all the luck they can get.

3. This has the potential to be worse than Katrina... far worse....
I know right now, as I'm typing this, someone is dying. That's how serious this is. And it's still three hours from Houston at 1AM. All of the people will be too tired to respond to the violence around them.
