Lets assume a worst case scenario for a moment and
McCain wins :puke:
So, anyway if he wins should we press for someone we can trust ourselves to run the DOE, DOJ and or the EPA?
Since McCain supports Kyoto (or I assume he still does and that he has not flipflopped on it) then how about Gore for EPA or the DOE to rally for more research into green energy, DOJ we need someone we can trust, anyone have any names? I was thinking Hillary, I'd suggest Obama as well but I dont think thats likely at all regardless how well qualified Obama is for it.

1. your post is making me sick
Not going down this road to visualize a very unlikely hypothetical. What good is this doing? I do not think that will happen, but if it did, I would have to cross that bridge to nowhere when I got to it.

DU would be a decent site if it wasn't for this stupid waste of bandwidth.

Have you ever heard of any principles in physics or spirituality?

HERE's a hint: what you focus and obsess on is what you attract. Focus on negativity and guess what...negative outcomes.

STOP whining and go contribute $100 to Obama NOW to ATONE for this dumb as a bag of rocks thread and for G-d's sake, shut up. I mean that most lovingly.

That is if you don't live under a bridge which I suspect since there ALOT of desperate McPain ip posting from locations in D.C.

instead of focusing on one area, the fact is Obama might not win, as depressing as it is if people dont wake up and start asking questions more of McCain and badger him until they get an answer rather than focus on the smoke and mirrors of Palin.
She is not the one running for office against Obama, McCain is so if we do want obama to win we need to turn our attention far more to McCain and pretty much ignore the old hag he picked in an attempt to distract us and the media from asking him the tough questions.
If we do that we can win, if not then we need to plan for a way to prevent the republicans from doing more damage than they already have.

4. McCain wins, I emigrate to Australia.
As Obama said, eight is enough. If after all of this, idiot America still goes with Mom-Maverick-Moose Hunter over real solutions to real problems, then I give up on America.

5. He'll flip-flop on global warming
He's dug himself in so deep with lobbyists and denialists that I find highly unlikely that he'll do anything significant about climate change, much less appoint a Democrat to high level position with so much political baggage.

8. A McCain Win Means One Thing, and One Thing Only
U.S. War in Iran. McCain's politics are in line with Cheney's. McCain's campaign is surrounded by PNACers who lust for a war in Iran.

Everything else, education, the environment, energy, healthcare, the economy is all on the back burner.

11. hope the dem congress fights him
No idea if they will though. But I would hope that they are able to restrain his impulses.

We'd stay in Iraq for another 4 years minimum. No idea if his cabinet would have decent people in it.

If Americans vote for another Republican then they/we deserve to watch our middle class die.

They can't. Some are being blackmailed, some are DINOs. The Repiggies still have effective control of Congress.

13. If We Lose, We Won't Be In Any Position to "Press for" Anything
Every loss makes the party weaker. A loss this year would effectively create a one-party system.
We might still control Congress on paper, but the "blue dogs" give the Repigs an effective majority now,
it would be worse after a loss in November.

There really is no way forward for us if we lose.

The Repiggies would loot the country into bankruptcy, and then turn us over to the Fundies.

Assuming McCain didn't drop the Bomb in a fit of temper, or Palin didn't do it to bring on the Rapture.

We have to win this one, somehow.

16. We're already 'there':
"The Repiggies would loot the country into bankruptcy"

And the financial side is nothing compared with the other depravities that have been foisted upon the good citizens of this country.

A repuke win would enter the USA into a whole nother - even LOWER LEVEL - than we are at right now of emotional and soulless  (<--crazy for the smilie impared).

Its just a worst case scenario, I hope it does not come to it, I hope obama thrashes him well at the voting booths but there still is a chance McCain could win in which case we need to take steps to make the situation go as well as for our nation as possible.
Getting good democrats who know to obey the law would be damn sight better than having the same type of people we had under Bush back in control, I trust someone like Hillary for example to tell McCain to go to hell if he wanted to open more secret prison camps to hold people or to wiretap without warrants.
Gore would do well to rein in some of the current problems in the EPA or the DOE but hey if you got other names to recommend feel free.
