In New Hampshire, Obama finally calls the McCain ads "lies"!
http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080913/NEWS08/309139921

DOVER – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama accused Republican
Sen. John McCain's campaign of "lies'' in attack ads and pledged if he's elected
that no American making less than $250,000 a year would pay higher taxes.

<snip>

The candidate described the unease some supporters have about the current
state of the race.

"I know there are a lot of Democrats and some independents and some Republicans
who really want change and are getting really nervous because they have seen this
movie before,'' Obama began.

"Every four years you have ads that basically, they are just fabricated, they are just
made up.'' A man in the audience shouted the word Obama sought, "Lies, lies.''

Obama continued, "Lies, that's the word I was looking for.''

<more>

Finally!

Tesha

4. I think Obama is going to show us that good guys can finish first
all he has to do is continue to point out the lies and allude to them in every speech. Not get down in the dirt like the repugs will shows that he is a man of integrety, something we sorely need right now. I know I have a lot of respect for him in the way he is running his campaign by taking the high road. This will get him way more votes than going negative would. IMHO

3. Maybe Keith Olbermann finally gave him the guts!
He and Rachel Maddow have been pushing for the words "lie" and "lies" all week on their shows. Enough with these polite pussyfooting around words. Enough with saying McCain and Palin stretched or exaggerated or bent or fabricated the truth or created their own reality or misrepresented or misspoke or whatever...they LIED. They are LYING. They are LIARS.

Now he's got to stand strong, because McCain's camp will fight back by claiming that his "honor" has been insulted, and that it is "disrepectful" and all that crap. He has to stand firm and NOT apologize no matter HOW they push that angle. Because McCain HAS no honor and does not DESERVE respect, because respect is EARNED.

5. I also heard a clip of him saying (paraphrasing) "if they continue to tell lies about us, we'll tell
the truth about them"

The way he said Truth led me to believe that he has some secrets on McPalin.

10. This is especially good when taken in context.
Obama wasn't speaking before a crowd of hand-picked sycophants. The audience member who insisted the GOP lines were lies wasn't a true believer. The group Obama addressed were specifically chosen because they were undecided. I would have really liked to go myself, but if I had gotten the day off that undecided thing would have disqualified me. This would seem to indicate that maybe we aren't the only ones seeing through all the McSame shit-slinging that been going on.

12. I'm glad he mentioned the LIES in the tax ad up here
I was complaining bitterly about this for a couple of weeks.

He MUST make an ad that points out in no uncertain terms that McCain's ad about "raising your taxes" is an OUT-AND-OUT LIE!!!

The most effective ads the Republicans run are "he'll raise your taxes" here in NH (no income tax state) - dammit, you must violently rebuff this bullshit!!
