If Bin Ladin shows up by the election it will be the biggest fraud ever
If George Bush comes up with Bin Ladin (sp?) between now and the election it should be decried as exactly what it is - a fraud against the people of the United States. We are not so god damned stupid that we will not know it was done for Political timing and if the time comes ever one of us should be shouting it from every rooftop. Prepare now, bring it up in conversation, note that you would not doubt for a moment that the Bush regime will stoop that low to get another Republican elected. If they could get him in October of '08 then there isn't one single reason on earth they could not have got him in '07, or '06, or '05, or '04, or '03, or '02, or the fall of '01 - not one single reason. And as long as I'm ranting let me say another thing - when he is found, and he will be found, it will not be because the NSA is listening in on telephone calls in the United States.

1. My Boss who doesn't pay any attention to anything political said,
"do you think they'll ever catch Bin Ladin? Do you think Bush will catch him just in time for the elections?"

2. It would be transparent to all but the Kool-Aid crowd...
and would, I believe, be held against republicans. They'd lose any hope of getting independents and other undecided voters. They'd also lose traditional republicans, as opposed to the neocons and theocons.

So, I say, BRING IT ON! :)

3. that's why I'm sort of hoping it happens

you don't miraculously capture bin laden seven years after 9/11, a month before the election.

Bush is already a lying, corrupt, inept asshole in the minds of an overwhelming majority of Americans. Let them pull this stunt.

4. I agree
I think the negative impact on Bush/McCain would far outweigh any bump for McCain. It will be so transparent.

5. I submit that we are exactly that stupid. Maybe even stoopid.
If Bush nabs bid Laden before the election, I predict that McCain will get a bump of between 10 and 12 percentage points.

I'm not saying that 10-12% more will actually vote for him, but the polls and electronic ballot-counting will reflect a jump at least that large.

6. What to expect the last few days
It is possible the claim may be made for lots of jolting things the MSM will RUSH to assume must shake up the election and benefit McCain. It will be the last exposure of their professional partisanship in these types of schemes. they will do so if they must surely by all other methods lose, because it injects more uncertainty which makes it hard to really determine how much they need to rig the numbers.

That will be sheer desperation. Stronger moves with less drama but just as much MSM play like the Bin Laden film in 2004 are much easier to plan around- even though it fizzled as THE pretext for a Bush victory because it was not rationally enough. So they finished off the pretext with a secret values stampeded by moral voters somewhere in the mists of re-calibrated exit polls.

They would have last time if they could and they learned in 2004 it might not do enough good. it also looks like the quick pressure this tear to change Pakistan's regime has not brought any better results to get Pakistan to actually help bring the reality or illusion about, hence the unnoticed but public fizzle during the GOP Convention.

Notice this time the GOP is bringing lawsuits NOW to screw up the election. Expect more after out of pure spite if we win. Even if a decisive for Obama, they might move heaven and earth to make sure the battle drags on after election night. What power in the GOP is left to pull the plug on the regime? No one. Not a one. They are running their last puppet show into the ground.

8. Bush got a big bump when they caught Saddam.
I suspect this would sway some "low information" types.

10. On the news this morning...
Bush is putting all of his CIA resources into Afghanistan to search for OBL.

I see this playing out in one of two ways. Bush will either pull the rabbit out of the hat in the last couple weeks before the election, or if McCain is trending up in polls and the chance to win or easily steal is a real prospect for the pukes, OBL will be "kept under the radar" until McCain takes office in Jan, after which he will soon "find" him. This will allow the pukes to say that we can remove all of our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan so that we can take on another war or two with Iran and potentially Russia if need be.

This is all being choreographed way too openly for those paying attention. The sad thing is that the bulk of the country is busy drinking the kool-aid and has absolutely no clue any of this is going on.

12. The real question here is whether CIA or some part of CIA
is willing to play along with BushCo when they're likely to lose power in November.
