No Federal disaster funds for Texas

That dark and nasty little cynic that lives inside of me and everybody else has toyed with thoughts like this. That said, there are a lot of people in Texas who have gained no benefit from the antics of The Oil Field Trash and the politicians they control. In fact, they have been victimized as much as anyone, if not worse, in some cases.

True, I would love to see this destruction become a springboard to a return to sanity down there. At one time, back in the 70's, I considered Texas one of the sanest places on the planet. They just let people live and let live, and spent very little time worrying about the things they could not control. They also kept their fundies well cooped up or staubed out on a short chain. Then something happened, the fundies got loose, and the place kinda went to hell in a handbag.

I look forward to the day, and I hope I am here to see it, when Texas regains the sanity it seems to have lost. Because when it is sane, it is the best place on earth.

I have had some mighty fine times and met some mighty great folks down there.

If put to a majority vote- would most Texans support federal aid for San Francisco?

Probably not if it were an internet poll....

of the rest of the country would support funds for Texas would get the same results.

based on the way the state and the government services are run, that poll might not come out too well either!

Been a democrat for 30 years...and last time I checked I paid taxes too.

For the 8 years they voted Repugs into office.

I know we HAVE been punished but my point is there was a lot dirty politics stealing elections here just like on the national level. I remember the "early" redistricting wars well.

The democrats ARE gaining seats here, so do not throw the whole state away because you perceive it as Repug.

send funds, they don't see it as a role government should play. I wish he wouldn't and McCain would come out publicly against any disaster funds but he won't. It would be great for us in the election which is the only reason Bush would spend the money on it.

they would wholly support what you say. After all, aren't they the people who think the Federal government's sole role is to protect the American people?
