McCain and Media Lying about Crowd Rally-Sizes?

McCain-Palin Crowd-Size Estimates Not Backed by Officials

McCain aide Kimmie Lipscomb told reporters on Sept. 10 that an outdoor rally in Fairfax City, Virginia, drew 23,000 people, attributing the crowd estimate to a fire marshal.

Fairfax City Fire Marshal Andrew Wilson said his office did not supply that number to the campaign and could not confirm it. Wilson, in an interview, said the fire department does not monitor attendance at outdoor events.

In recent days, journalists attending the rallies have been raising questions about the crowd estimates with the campaign. In a story on Sept. 11 about Palin's attraction for some Virginia women voters, Washington Post reporter Marc Fisher estimated the crowd to be 8,000, not the 23,000 cited by the campaign.

3. I can't search the archives right now but, on Wednesday
some posters were worried that McGramps was drawing so many in VA, a blue venue. We talked about how it was a WEDNESDAY, how people are more concerned with their mortgage and their gas tanks and so on.

One or more of us called it: they were faking the numbers.

9. I predicted this to my friends...
Remember when one of the Rovians said something to the effect that 'we create our own reality...'?

I'm just not buying the idea that the whole election has been turned upside down by Sarah Failin.
My suspicion is that the repukes are jigging the system to make it appear that they are winning. The polls are upside down, the crowds are upside down, so many people are ga-ga over Failin, etc. Meanwhile, story after story breaks about just how dishonest and deceitful that campaign has become.

I have yet to come across one person who doesn't joke about McCain's VP pick. The photos that I've seen from the 'big' rallies seem to only show a narrow slice of the audience mostly. Would it be possible for us to take photos of McSame rallies in our respective areas, to try to get an idea of whether the numbers are being jigged?

Just my thoughts...fwiw!
