Has anyone else noticed the snappy new uniforms of the TSA security employees at the airport?

Has anyone else noticed the snappy new uniforms of the TSA security employees at the airport?
Much more of a police/military look than the old uniforms with epaulets and a very prominent badge displayed. Why, if I were a fascist party trying to play on people's fears in order to maintain power, this is just the type of thing that I would do. Send a subtle message that there are serious security issues confronting us and we need a swarm of police types to contain this. They would probably give these folks automatic weapons if they could get away with it.
