7. I doubt there're enough Secret Service to make it possible.

Pontiac, Flint, Saginaw ... he'd be toast. He'd have to stay away from the minority blue collar corridor.

18. When McCain was in KC last week, I was working a building over from the hotel he was at.
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 09:09 PM by Kansas Wyatt
I parked my service van about 50 feet from his bus. One of the security guards at the hotel said that there were 100 Secret Service there. They had several SUVs and vans to follow him around.

It kind of surprised me at how close to all of this I could get, and nobody said anything to me all morning. I had to walk around the area where his bus was, because the only access to the part of the building I was working in was the parking garage they parked all the SS vehicles in.

They had me move my service van once when his bus came back, so they could get it back to where they had his bus parked, but they said I could park in the same place once they pulled the bus back in.

I thought about writing out a service ticket and billing the McCain campaign, for the time it took me from my job.

19. The amount of protection Bush cronies have gotten is INSANE by historical standards.
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 09:32 PM by TahitiNut
The Cheney/Bush inaugurations more than DOUBLED the number of security personnel (military, police, and Secret Service) ever seen in ANY prior administration.

That's a lot of money to spend protecting turds. I'd object but the last thing I'd want is for the GOP to have a 'martyr' ... it'd be their wet dream.

20. I asked a question at the time to others around me....
Why is it that when a Democrat is in office, they can walk down a street without any protection, but when a Republican is in office, they need an army around them?

I added the comment that it was very telling about who they were really for, as far as 'We The People' were concerned.

I wondered about the foul smell coming from the north.
