Boy, do we need a Depression!
Enough already. A Great Depression is the only moment in time when the average guy gets anything. And the hilarious part is, the country must be busted before it finally gives the most. That was the landscape for Teddy and Franklin. The ultra wealth wanted everything and more and nothing stands in the way of wealth with desire in a capitalistic laissez-faire so-called democracy for the well-to-do wealth sucking greed monsters.

So I say,

Bring it on

1. I'm slightly inclined to agree...
...because the only time the 'majority' of this country pays any attention to REAL issues is when it's biting them in their wallet.

Once they start feeling the lightness in their pocketbooks - they will wise up.

2. I honestly don't see how someone like FDR could have won if it weren't for the Great Depression.

If the stock market crash of 1929 was simply a mild correction, all the New Deal programs likely would not have come into existence in the form we know them today. With an economy that is still intact, FDR would've been cast as a far left extremist like Dennis Kucinich.

6. That's what I have been saying. The only way we are going to build something
better, something resembling a sustainable lifestyle, something in anyway approaching social justice, the current system has to collapse. I say let it come down. But beware: the christian dominionists, the fascists, and the disaster capitalists are saying the same thing.

8. Oh God, that's scary
"the christian dominionists, the fascists, and the disaster capitalists are saying the same thing." It's what worries me - the ultra wealthy will not be affected by the economic disaster that beats the hell out of the rest of us. They will survive and likely not be held accountable for any of their crimes, i.e. the Bush family. If only there were justice.....

9. I've been saying that for weeks. These greedy little grandchildren
want the cellphone ($500 one) when 13 and they want it now. They expect a new Mustang, because the next door neighbor's kid got one.....and none of them want to work.

I wonder if a nice little depression might bring all of the families back to their senses.

Some of my step children hang up on their mother while on the cell phone,
won't answer the cell phone..and lie about hearing it ring (in a dead zone).

I swear.....grandma sees more than they think.

This whole world is a mess....Lord how I miss the 50's and 60's...but then again...change is the only thing that is consistent!
