Army recruiters are still lying...
I just spoke with my sister tonight. Her son has decided to join the Army. It looks like he'll be an MP. I expressed my reservations and offered to at least let him know what military life is like since I'm a vet. She said he's intent on going.

What surprised me was what he was told by the recruiters. They told him he probably won't be going to Iraq since they're bringing the troops home now. I knew they stretched the truth, but this...well, after I picked my jaw up off the floor I told her to make sure he knows they are lying. I filled her in on the facts and told her to make sure to pass it on.

She told me she didn't want me to pressure him over this and I explained at the very least he needs to know the truth. He leaves for basic training in a few months. There is no doubt in my mind my nephew be shipped to Iraq after he completes his training. :(

3. Everyone who served shared this same experience:
They were all given two speeches (1) the "you are in the army/navy/air force/marines...this is not the (insert other branch here)" speech and (2) Your recruiter lied.
