Similar to a terror attack, maybe far worse, maybe a total collapse of our economy. Haven't seen him much lately huh? Just like right before nine eleven, he's hiding out somewhere, going over the details that we don't get to see.

1. What a coward.
He should be addressing the country, but isn't because of the fear that it will hurt his party's chances.

5. Oh yeah, they have their Shock Doctrine policies all in place
It's just a matter of timing. Wait until things get so horrific that people will gladly accept any idea, no matter how bad or distasteful.

6. Republican government: Disastrous for the U.S.
Maybe the one good thing to come out of this is that, at least, the vaunted Republican economic theory of trickle down will finally be pronounced dead.
Among the results of Republican conservatism:
9/11: Asleep at the switch, ignoring warnings (because they came from the "other" party), this administration and party failed to secure the U.S. from a terrorist attack.
The Unitary President: This party and this administration has all but destroyed the system of checks and balances that has been a hallmark of American democracy.
Deregulation: Unleashed a storm of greed and mismanagement unseen since the gilded age.
Economics: A trainwreck that virtually wiped out trillions of dollars and turned the American workforce into serfs.
Defense (Offense?): Has brought the military to a breaking point. Irresponsible handling of the military - primarily for personal or private gain - has redefined "defending America" into "offending the rest of the world".

In the process of enacting these disastrous policies, they have weakened the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and significantly eroded the spirit of freedom from which this country lives and breathes. We have nationally become a polarized, hateful, and understandably disgruntled people - intolerant and distrustful - but obedient and compliant out of fear rather than respect.

Hard to imagine a more destructive administration or political philosophy than we have seen in the last eight years.

9. " ...ignoring warnings (because they came from the "other" party)"
9/11: Asleep at the switch, ignoring warnings (because they came from the "other" party), this administration and party failed to secure the U.S. from a terrorist attack.

There were also warnings coming in from intelligence agencies all over the world which were ignored.

Put on your thinking caps people (tin foil type not required). Warnings had been flooding in for months about an upcoming big league terrorist attack in the US. These warnings had come from intelligence agencies all around the world. We know that when the Shrub went to a previous G8 summit in Italy one of the concerns was that terrorists might crash a plane into the conference center in an attack on the G8 leaders. Consequently special anti-aircraft defenses were installed for the duration of the conference to protect the location and the Shrub spent nights off-shore on a US aircraft carrier as a precaution against this type of attack.

G8 summit may have been Bin Laden target

Two months before the attacks on New York and Washington, Osama bin Laden may have been contemplating an aerial attack against world leaders assembled in Genoa for a G8 summit.

Rumours that the terrorist suspect planned to pack an aircraft with explosives and launch it at the Ducal palace containing George Bush have been given weight by the president of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak.

He said Islamist suicide pilots were originally intended to launch an attack on the Italian riviera.

"On June 13 of this year, we learned of a communique from Bin Laden saying he wanted to assassinate Mr Bush and other G8 heads of state during their summit in Italy. It was a well-known piece of in formation," said President Mubarak.

On a state visit to Paris, the president told French media that Egypt's intelligence services had intercepted plans for "an aeroplane stuffed with explosives" to plunge into Genoa. A warning was passed to the US, he said.

When they installed a missile defence system at Genoa's airport in July and enforced a no-fly zone, the Italian authorities were derided, but now they feel vindicated.

So they have had all these warnings flooding in, and they obviously know there was a strong possibility terrorists might try crashing planes into prominent and important buildings (from the G8 conference). Yet the airspace over Washington DC is left without air cover for something like an 1hr 15min after the first reports of hijacking that morning, allowing one of the hijacked aircraft to hit the Pentagon over an hour after the first reported hijackings. Remember that hijacked aircraft could just as easily have been targeting the Capitol or the White House. Washington, the nation's capital, was essentially left open to attack.

And no one gets fired, no one gets disciplined. Where does "incompetence" end and treason begin?

Hermann Goering:"....voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack ofpatriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

Columnist Sydney Schanberg: "We Americans are the ultimate innocents. We are forever desperate to believe that this time the government is telling us the truth."

Wake up America. You were set up.

10. Good job - they capitalized on the tragedy
This administration made a career out of this tragedy.
...and bin Laden remains free.
Bin Laden is to Bush as the "real killer" is to OJ.

14. And for the icing on the cake.....

the hijackers just happened to hit the newly strengthened and reinforced wing with the least amount of Pentagon workers and top brass offices, but the they did manage to hit and kill the staff in the accounting office as the bean counters were probably trying to figure out where the unaccounted for 2.3 trillion dollars from the Pentagon budget had been spent. See Rummy announcing they had lost track of 2.3 million dollars of spending : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj1rT4bszWg
