DOW rises on another $180 Billion in cash injections...
Still no satisfactory results in Ike-devastated areas.

1. I'm speachless...
First, I had to stop and send that Palin pic to everyone I know.

Second, where did this money come from?

I'll be buying bags of rice, flour, and beans tonight... some shortening and yeast too... and a few loaves of whole grain bread on which I'll feast... savoring every bite so I will remember what it was like... I'm not sure I'll pull any cash out of the bank... I'm not sure it would be worth anything by the time I brought it home.

Water purification may be a good thing to look into tomorrow.

4. And I'm sure we had to borrow the band-aid
And since there is no regulation in any industry, we cannot afford to assume the band-aid is sterile and won't further infect the hemorrhaging wound.

3. There have been so many central bank injections to keep track easily, but
I think that makes $335 Billion in cash infusions just this week alone as well as $multi-Billions in corporate bailouts.

7. The DOW gains aren't even that great.
For such big news, the gains haven't broken +150 so far.
They've been hovering between 100-145 for the last hour.
As I type this, it dropped from +146 to +84.

Just reminds me of Tuesday's "bounce".
I wonder if Friday will look like Wednesday when everyone remembers that the financial industry is still screwed and these cash injections aren't stopping companies like WaMu from looking for people to bail them out or they'll go belly up.

9. Didn't Keith O. tally up what had been spent to date last night. Think it was already something like
$818 billion. So, another $trillion of our nation's 'wealth' has been blown. What will the national debt really be when W leaves office? $12 trillion???
