9/11???

As you can see by my post count, I am quite the n00b, so I am asking the more seasoned DU members...

...why is every 9/11 post relegated to the back room?

Reducing duplicate efforts? Or what?

I've never seen one last for more than ten minutes. It gets disappeared with the quickness.

Does that mean they're blowing up like the WTC did?

Or that the arguments are inherently unstable?

Could you explain that a little further?

Does that mean members of the community are helped by being pooled in a thread where their questions might already been answered/asked? I'm not sure I understand this answer.

That is where they should go. We do things neat and orderly around here, even in the Lounge, where we keep our assorted nuts and party animals.

I guess you can guess from my reply, the Lounge is where I usually reside...until I chew through my restraints and spill out into the other forums and groups, then they come round me up and take me back to the Lounge to lick my wounds and begin plotting again.

I like the Lounge. Actually, I love it there, but every now and then, I turn into a masochist and come to GD or go to GD:P

I am getting it. I've only been beat up 2 or three times. Only a couple people have accused me of being a repuke and fundie, a couple I think still want me dead.

It will get better with a few thousand more posts when I am not a noob anymore.

Who is really a legitimate new member trying to find his way around.

Especially right now.

Things are completely out of control in this country, and this place is getting awfully tense, to say the least. There are a lot of trolls and disruptors as well, and sometimes innocent people will get caught in the middle as collateral damage.

Don't worry, it does get easier, but not less interesting. :)

I've already gotten into arguments, had a message deleted, and been called a bigot.

And I'm the most liberal person I know.

I think it gets better with time.

Before I joined to DU I had that group book marked and it was a front room to me as it was an interest I had.

Problem is there are a lot of posts on it - and some people like to keep things nice and tidy, ie all in one place so folks can focus on that issue.

Hence we have 'here' general discussion for general topics from politics to crime to hunting, etc.

In the long run I think it makes more sense that when you have a topic that will be around for a really long time to give it it's own place so people wanting to post about it don't have to wade through a bunch of general things.

Plus half the people over there are crazy and we had to lock em up somewhere to keep em out of the general populace :)

Plus, the Republican leadership pulls these big boners and really do pull strings in elections, spy on people, make small planes drop from the sky, use the CIA to do extraordinary renditions then use the same planes to smuggle cocaine, but if you say anything you will be mocked as a conspiracy theorist. If its not really Breaking or General or Loungy the have a place. Its happened to me alot, now that you say it alot of my posts end up in some other room quick.

When I first came to DU we could talk about 911 in GD and it's why I liked it here.

Somewhere along the way, other peoples opinions and perceptions became more important than finding the truth so any discussion about 911 was put into the 911 dungeon.

Because I wanted to know the truth and nothing but, I decided to use that forum as my home page, but the MIHOP/LIHOP deniers started working overtime there trying to squash anything but the OCT.

It's now at the point that you just can't have a real and truthful discussion about 911 here on DU. :thumbsdown:

If you click on it, you'll notice that there are many, many different forums on many, many different discussions. So, like pet people, bicycling people, sports people, etc, etc, 911 people have their very own special place to talk about their specific interest.

How cool is that? :thumbsup:

And we'd have nothing else on the rest of the site except racist and/or mentally unstable conspiritards, and people fighting with those conspiritards, unless they're all relegated to the basement.
