Poll question: Are you prepared to help Obama by telling gun-owners "He believes in the Second Amendment."
Obama mocks McCain in Nevada stops
"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face," he said.

"And if they tell you that, 'Well, we're not sure where he stands on guns.' I want you to say, 'He believes in the Second Amendment.' If they tell you, 'Well, he's going to raise your taxes,' you say, 'No, he's not, he's going lower them.' You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case."

To get in the face of a gun-owner, Obama’s ambassadors better know what the Second Amendment means and other things like “assault weapon”.

There are between 54 and 80 million gun-owners in an electorate of over 200 million.

Over 122 million voted in 2004 and Obama will need perhaps 62 million votes to win on 4 November.

Are you prepared to help Obama by telling gun-owners "He believes in the Second Amendment."

2. Sure, why not?
His strongest definition of where he stands on the issue is "properly enforcing the laws we have," which I believe is where many NRA members stand.

4. Do you want to use it? In it Obama supports reinstating the AWB that is opposed by most gun-owners.

5. Yes
Instead of one of them telling me they saw it and make me look like I don't know his stance.

He supports gun ownership and does not want to take away their guns and that he favors enforcing the laws we already have and is pro common sense regulations (vs others who want to ban everything).

6. I understand but AWB is not current law. It's a new law that would ban many popular firearms.
That's why gun-owners oppose the reinstatement of the assault weapons ban.

That is my question.

11. Phone Bank Response to Guns
I was calling from our area phone bank tonight and one man said he was leaning toward McCain.I asked him what particular issue was making him think about McCain. His answer was "Guns". I said well what in particular about the gun issue and he said "Obama is going to take our guns away from us.That's what everybody tells me." So of course I had to do a little explaining, educating, and persuading. I think I made some headway and I guessing he's going to study up on this more. At least I hope so.

14. Do we run down the litany of all enumerated rights...?
Do we run down the litany of all enumerated rights, explain that the good Senator supports the First Amendment, explain that the good Senator supports the Seventh Amendment, etc... or simply choose the Second as that is the pet project of a powerful special interest group?

16. Yes, been trying to tell people at the range
that they have more to fear from the party of martial law and post-Katrina gun-grabbing than from Obama. Some respond with a generally pessimistic attitude toward both parties, but frankly if they stay home instead of voting McCain that's fine with me.
