We need the Fairness Doctrine now.

The RW Radio Hatemongers are in full "repugnant mode" as of late spreading their evil lies and GOP propaganda. If they were not allowed by the BushCo FCC to freely spread their hate and lies the (credible) polls would not show the rethuglican nominees doing anywhere near as well as they are. As it is, the mindless shittoheads tune in and get an earfull of garbage and come away falsely thinking they might have a chance. I'm sure Obama will win in November regardless of the RW Radio Hatemongers' efforts and no doubt this is what makes them so desperate.

1. We need *A* Fairness Doctrine, not necessarily *THE* Fairness Doctrine.

If we had *THE* Fairness Doctrine, we would lose Air America, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, and the new-and-improved TweetyBall.

2. I think you may not understand the Fairness Doctrine as it
existed before Reagan, Bork and Scalia killed it.

4. That's not the same as saying that reinstitution
would throw them off the air.

6. The onslaught o f propaganda and inability to hear the truth from the American corporate media
is a direct result of the dismantling of the Fairness Doctrine.

We are long overdue for a similar enactment to countermand the spew we are subject to.

aimed squarely at the Media consolidation that's occured, and at these financial institutions that are "too big to be allowed to fail."

8. Oddly enough, the media consolidation is the result
of the 1996 Telecommunications Act. It was shepard ed out of the Commerce Committee, by its chairman: John Sidney McCain.
