meanwhile in Houston ( I still have no power)
This morning I turned on our battery TV to see a report about a line a mile long of people waiting for food stamps.... as long as they had fucking papers in order. Fucking government will throw pallets of money in Iraq and their buddies on Wall Street but screw the people they better have their fucking papers in order. My husband and I are doing great, we can afford to go out to eat and drive around in an air conditioned car.... it just breaks our hearts to see the misery..... it is only going to get worse.

keep hope alive

2. Sadly this is only news in Texas
I've been watching on KHOU and can't believe the neglect and confusion.
Hope things improve soon. :grouphug:

13. Please know that I care!
There's just a paucity of information that's out there on the MSM. I have family in San Antonio and haven't heard from them via e-mail, but have written to let them know how concerned I am. Seems like they probably were not in harm's way given their location. I'm glad you are doing well. It's infuriating how little assistance our "government" provides its citizens in the midst of disaster/crises, but can spend zillions of our taxes to "bail out" the wealthy. Words fail me anymore as I try to express my anger and dismay.

Take care and be safe.

6. I wish I lived in a country that actually saw its citizens as
human beings. Instead, we are merely numbers they need when voting time comes. Damn shame. :kick: & Recommended.

8. With the conversion to digital tv next year
those of us in the hurricane prone areas (I am in Beaumont) won't be able to use these little tvs to check on things. Unless the coverters will hook up to them and run on batteries also
