What does the Freeper Right think of this bailout?
My sense is that real and honest conservatives will have a serious problem with government bailing out irresponsible corporations who made bad decisions.

On the other hand, we also have a lot of people on the Right who like to suck up to corporate America, and their worldview is shaped by an ethos of "What's good for corporations is good for America".

On the Left, we have a mutual distrust of the intentions and motives of the business community and a belief that they need to be kept on a short leash, under the watchful eye of government regulators. A bailout without conditions is unconscionable.

Perhaps this will be an issue that unites elements of the Left and the Right.

6. Yeah, I remember when the poor were in the streets
with pitch forks and torches demanding low interest, no down payment loans. I thought it would be the end of civilization.

3. FreeRepublic denizens are up in arms. They hate the idea.
...of course, they blame Democrats for creating the situation, but they still hate the idea of a bailout.

Which is essentially a video site, but is, in fact, a sewer of the worst right-wing frothers, bigots, racists, white supremicists and repuke astroturfers, it is all about how this is the Dems fault, from top to bottom.

5. I ventured over to the freeper site for awhile
just to see what the temperature was like.

It is about 50/50.

What was funny was that many were blaming the Democrats for this mess and bailout. Which I couldn't understand. Oh course, there was the "Blame Clinton" threads.

Many are not happy with this bailout though. They want restrictions on the amount with stipulations to go along with the check. Many want the golden parachutes halted as well as any bonuses. There were many encouraging others to call their congress people and tell them no to the bailout.

I think this is one issue, one big issue that we as Americans can find common ground.

8. Both parties support the bailout.
This isn't about parties; this is about the ruling class owning the parties and having them take OUR tax dollars to bail THEM out.

10. Really want to know?
Here's a link:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2086505/posts

Only a couple hundred posts, though. More concern about a dog stung by bees.

It's pretty hilarious seeing these jokers trying to justify the bailout. This just about finishes them as conservatives, I think.

No foreign entanglements/nation building? Bush and Iraq
No government snooping in your private affairs? Bush and FISA/Patriot Act
Environmental conservation? Bush and Big Coal/Big Oil.
No government bailouts? Bush and the investment banking crisis.
Fiscal Responsibility? Bush and the busted budget.
Limited Government? Bush and DHS.

You got liberals and conservatives. Then you have Freepers - Republican apologists. No principles needed!
