Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 04:58 PM by redstate_democrat
All of the Directors, CEOs CFOs, COOs, and VPs of these investment banks that knowingly traded in these worthless pieces of paper are guilty of fraud, securities fraud, and possible money laundering. Some of these hedge fund managers who were short selling and spreading rumors also need to be prosecuted under RICO right along with them. The mortgage brokers who knowingly made these fraudulent loans need to be taken down as well. They are all part of the same "enterprise" and were all working towards one goal. They propped these worthless "securities" up and then when the concealment of their worthlessness wasn't possible anymore, they all scattered and jumped ship like rats. The short sellers were able to get paid on the downslope and the little guy with these company's stocks in his portfolio or the homeowner stuck with one of these predatory loans gets shafted.

They all need to be investigated under RICO and also relevant SEC laws.

2. Hell if I can connect the dots, I know a federal prosecutor can!
It's plain as day. They can simply check the company's hot books, newspaper archives, public pronouncements made by company reps, trading activity, and the underlying FRAUD inherent in some of these loans.

They are also part of this CRIMINAL enterprise. If they had done their jobs, the shit would have stunk from day one.

8. The public could not afford the trials. And would lose.
This gang would spend mucho of the hard-earned and ill-got gains on lawyers and would skate. The criminal justice system is influenced by money too, unfortunately.
