A buddy of mine just got back from search and rescue on the Texas coast...

real quick...(I'll have more later since I didn't get long to talk to him)

he told me that Galveston has about 10-20% damage. the Peninsular however is about 85% destroyed. He described it as looking like Hiroshima. In his own opinion and he's a very left leaning Dem, it should be left alone and be given back to nature as a wetland.

He also knows that probably won't happen. He did state that it probably will be around 9 months before basic infrastructure is back on line.
