Singles declaring they're 'middle of the road' or 'non-political' - NOW? STILL? :^)

I'm divorced, so I've been looking at women's 'profiles' on online dating sites for the last couple of years, and it just cracks me up when I see people who are one of the above, particularly after the growing divisiveness of the past 8 years; particularly the 'non-political' ones. But before you whack me for saying that, sure, I know there are many people who are ignorant/apathetic/apolitical in this country... I'm just saying that looking at it from my quite-political/activist/long-involved-to-varying-degrees standpoint, it's just one of those WTF? thoughts.

And of course, it goes without saying that in addition to the above 2 types, I don't even give a second glance to those who identify themselves as conservative. I don't know how James Carville does it. I can barely maintain a civil relationship with a few conservative relatives, much less a girlfriend or wife. :^)

This is a big pet peeve of mine. I don't know whether to laugh or be disgusted with people who say they're "independent"!

Independent of what, rational thought?

You'd have to be living in a cave not to choose sides at this point (whether on a dating site or not, does an adult want to admit that?)

Our party is not left wing, but center. The extreme right wing makes it sound like we are extreme left wing but that isn't the case. There are parties that are more left than ours, and there are some in the Democratic Party that are true left, but most are center.

But I imagine what they are calling middle of the road would be what we call right of center.

because I'm not dumb enough to vote for a Green for president - I may be more left than the Dems in general, but I'm still going to vote for my best and most-likely-to-win choice!

Jewish doctor, democrat, of course. The doctor/Jewish part is not of foremost importance, but I couldn't even consider being in conversation for two minutes with a repug. Couldn't do it. Oy vey..
