Does Cindy shop here?? Prison Outlet Store In Florence, AZ

Some say it's the best kept secret in the town of Florence: a store where you can buy everything from belts to jewelry, even paintings. And it may surprise you who is supplying the product.
You can't miss the Prison Outlet in Florence; it's about the only place where you'll find an inmate interacting with the public.
Ron Lynch is an inmate who works inside the store.
"A lot of times," he tells News 4, "They ask me, 'Are you really a prisoner or are you just dressed like one?' I say, 'I'm really a prisoner,' we get to talking and they realize I'm like everyone else, I just made a mistake."

I'll bet she picks up knick knacks and doodads for her brazillion homes here.

1. we have the Maine State Prison Show Room
the prisoners do a lot of woodworking, and it's very beautiful, hand crafted stuff. I have a whole bedroom set, and a book case from them. The prisoners work there too.

The Maine Department of Corrections operates Industries Programs in five of our Adult Facilities.

Our goal is to provide quality products to the public and other agencies while, very importantly, keeping as many prisoners busy as possible.

With average program revenues exceeding 1.5 million annually, Industries is primarily a self-funded operation and has been described by Washington D.C. consultants as “Unique to the Nation”.

The Prison Industries Upholstery Shop is the home of the state’s only Prison Industry Enhancement Certification Program (PIECP), a federally certified program which allows prisoners to work for private enterprise, and grants an exemption from federal restrictions on prisoner-made goods in interstate commerce. This highly regulated program enables participating prisoners to earn money which goes toward reimbursing the state for their room and board expenses, as well as paying victim restitution and child support.

The Maine State Prison Showroom, still located on Route 1 in Thomaston, Maine (207-354-9237), is the largest retailer of over 600 crafted products, but there are also over 60 private vendors approved to resell prison-made goods throughout the State of Maine.

The Showroom is open year round 7 days a week 9-5.

Products are available for sale to the public by visiting the Maine State Prison Showroom on Route 1 in Thomaston, Maine. The Showroom is open year round 7 days a week from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. You may call for product availability at (207)354-9237 or e-mail the Showroom.

Our Industries Programs include:

Woodshop--MSP, MCC, CCF
Garments-- MCC, DCF
Re-upholstery--MCC
Embroidery--MCC
License Plates--BCF
Wood Harvesting--CCF
Upholstery--MSP
Engraving--MSP
