4. Does suspending benefit his campaign financially somehow?
Just asking. The thought occurred to me this a.m. before coffee, so it may not be the case.

5. Sure...Saves Him For The "Final Push"
There was an excelent post about this on DKos that Camp Gramps budgeted for a 7 state battle...TV time, campaign swings, etc., instead, the battlefront has gone to 13 states...and this has been taking a strain on already taxed resources. A "time out" saves a few bucks now for later.

I think this also indicates the confusion within Camp Gramps...they've been fighting a lot of wars lately and they're hoping to cool things down...hide behind this "crisis", attempt to blame Democrats and try to regroup a campaign that is "cratering".

Gramps is limited...he's taken federal campaign financing and I'm betting he's burning through it like water. The only outside help he could get is from the RNC and that won't be enough.

Cheers...

11. It's Gonna Take A Lot Of Tweeking For That To Happen
Not as though it can't...but for the "clean steal" to work, you need things to be close so that it's up to one state to determine the election...and you game the system for that state. It was made-to-order for Katherine Harris or Ken Blackwell...I don't see those types out there this year. More Democrats will do the counting this year...especially in Ohio and Colorado.

If anything, I see this "crisis" as the big money boys throwing in the towel on Gramps...they see him as a loser and want their bail-out now before the elections and a Democratic victory would turn this regime into a complete lame duck. Paulsen's preparing the escape hatches, just like Mukasey is trying to do at Justice and many others in this regime. The scariest days are ahead during the time between the election and inauguration day as the boooosh cabal tries to escape town with a lot of their ill-gotten goods.

Gramps is having to fight this election on his turf, not Obama's...and the states that are turning into battlegrounds are ones that Obama is far better organized on the ground that Gramps. While I don't dismiss tampering...and we're already seeing caging games going on...the effort is a lot more widespread this year...it's hard to be able to target one state and say this is where it boils down to.

Cheers...

7. This is probably a ploy to save money..
his big money donors probably all of a sudden find themselves in a bit of a financial pickle. I bet he had already paid for the airtime and the networks said screw you, you're not getting your money back...

9. Air time already paid for
Ad packages have blocks of time sold in advance. Of course, now the question is how much air time has he already paid for...

12. probably traffic logs were already locked
and the traffic director wasn't going to unlock the log and preempt at 5 minutes before quitting time. I know as a general rule, once my log is locked for the next day, any cancelllations I get after that aren't going into effect until the day after that.

So, if he cancelled his ads yesterday afternoon, you'd probably see them last night and today too. They should stop running by tomorrow.
